On 21 June, in the perfect setting of the Principality of Monaco, Lady Anne, before a crowd of industry VIPs attending the annual award-giving event, was named "Outstanding Achievement in Motor Yachts" for 2006. Somewhat like the Oscar "Lifetime Achievement" award, this honor does not specify any single aspect of the yacht’s creation, but awards the totality of the work by designers, shipyard, subcontractors, suppliers, captain, project managers and, in this case, the very dedicated owners who proudly and intensively led the project.
The award was officially accepted by Annelies Damen, daughter of Kommer Damen, founder and president of the Damen Shipyards Group, which acquired Amels in 1991.
A brief speech of acceptance was made by the yacht’s owners, who expressed appreciation to all concerned, including their lawyer, for all the good works. A reception aboard Lady Anne followed.
Lady Anne is a fine example of a perfect collaboration between the designer, furniture experts, the shipyard, and the clients. This 244 feet yacht can reach a top speed of 17.4 knots with its two Caterpillar 3516B @ 2375 hp each.
