Engine
The Formula 240 Bowrider supports a single engine installation and a maximum 370 hp. The Formula team lets the buyer to choose the engine from MerCruiser or Volvo Penta engines. The engine bay provides plenty of room and the engine is fixed whit thru-bolted engine mounts. The wires ant hoses are installed so the engine maintenance could be made whit out no problem. In the engine hatch is equipped whit a fume detector and an automatic fire extinguisher for the safety of the driver and passengers. The engine can be accessed through a motorized hatch that supports the sun pad and the starboard-side walk-through.

The Formula 240 Bowrider is built from a solid glass and foam-filled stringer system, which gives the ride more solidity. The high-density, fiberglass-reinforced polyurethane hull was laid up with gelcoat, chop glass and Fabmat. The 240 also has a swim platform and a sunpad on the back of the boat, a ski pylon and wakeboard tower.
Interior
The design of the 240 Bowrider reveals that Formula made this boat in a younger spirit. Below the snap-in carpet in the center is a huge locker for skis, wakeboards and lots of other items. The storage space is definitely not o problem for the 240 Bowrider. You can find storage compartments under each of the facing lounges in the open bow or on a large hinged locker supported by a gas strut that provided storage for fenders, lines and a removable ski pylon.
The 240 provides enough room for you and your friends and for your comfort Formula provided adjustable seats and cup holders for your beverages. The access to the boat is made by a boarding ladder situated in the front of the boat. The helm has easy to read Livorsi gauges reminding more of a sports car then of a boat. Over to the left is a digital depth gauge and on the right you can find a compass. The tunes can be controlled with a remote just to the left of the wheel. Rocker switches control the power and have lights in the switch to show you what is still on when you are out at night.
Another feature of this boat is located under the port side seat: a carry-on cooler. There’s so much room on this boat that you can even set a table in the stern area. You can find even a molded-in cockpit galley with a stainless-steel sink and a Corian countertop that makes you wonder if this is really a Bowrider and not a luxury yacht.

The 240 Bowrider handles very well on the water. It can reach a top speed of 46.2 mph turning 5000 rpm and can cruise at 22.8 mph at 3000 rpm for a full tank range of 149 miles. You will be satisfied whit the acceleration because in only 8 seconds the boat reaches 30 mph. the handling of the 240 Bowrider is what stood out during the test. It handles perfectly, smooth and precise whit out any effort. Turning the wheel in any direction and the boat follows decisively. You can try to slalom at any speed and you and your passengers will feel safe even during aggressive maneuvers. The main reason this boat handles so perfectly is the deadrise, the balance of the hull and the solid construction.
