Engine

The 280 Bowrider’s engine is placed under the rear aft seats, which lifts with the help of a single ram. In the engine hatch you can easily reach all the engine components, the wires and installations. The standard engine that comes whit the 280 Bowrider is a 375 hp MerCruiser 496 MAG engine. If you think that the 375 hp engine is not enough for you then I recommend the425 hp MerCruiser 496 MAG HO engine, or the two 260 hp MerCruiser 5.0L.

Interior

The 280 Bowrider offers enough seating in the bow to fit five adults comfortably, and if they want they can turn this area into a sun pad. The port helm area has a bench seat that can fit up to three persons. In the aft part of the boat is a large U-shape seat and two removable tables that can be stored if you need some room. All the seating areas are surrounded by drink holders, and offer lots of storage space. The design of the helm area provides easy access to all the needed controls and switches. All the easy to view gauges are set in a burl-wood panel on either side of the wheel. If you need to prepare meals for you and your friends the best solution is the wet bar with hidden freshwater sink and cooler compartment with drain.

The 280 Bowrider is handles easier than other smaller models, giving you the impression of a high performance sport boat. It can reach at 5000 rpm a top speed of 51.7 mph. At the cruising speed of 29.2 mph the 280 can travel up to 214 miles with 120 gal of fuel.
