Lamborghini poweryacht concept by Mauro Lecchi

Mauro Lecchi has designed the yacht of his dream: a Lamborghini yacht, with design coming from the analysis of Lamborghini car and is as exotic and luxurious as the car itself. Its side view is inspired by the Reventon supercar and adds big intakes and a huge window, to characterize the boat with a single large element.

The yacht can be powered by three types of engines: 2×700 hp Volvo Penta IPS 900 diesel, 2×950 hp diesel Seatek, 2x (3x) 550 hp v 12 - 60 ° Lamborghini petrol. It features a Kevlar/carbon body and has a hull length of 15m, Hull width 4m, and Height 3.8m.

The deck offers a pair of exterior deck aft, double sofa, bar and entertainment center.

So, what are you waiting for? Bring it on!

’A’ - or a $300 million yacht

Of course the owner of this impressive yacht is a Ruassian, Andrey Melnichenko. Its yacht features a radical shape and was designed by Philippe Starck. Completed in 2008 the yacht is estimated at $300 million.

Called ’A’, the yacht features is secured by a fingerprint security system, with only four people in the world having access to it. And after you get inside there is an all-white, 2,583-square-foot master suite wrapped n bomb-proof, 44-millimeter glass. The combination of the rotating bed and the rotating platter allows limitless angles for watching the sunset, sunrise or the 60-inch plasma TV, which retracts from the ceiling.

Instead of regular couches and mahogany walls, there are Baccarat-crystal tables, shiny white finishes and polished silver, a kind of Manhattan-loft-meets-Vegas aesthetic. Many of the rooms have floor-to-ceiling mirrors, which Mr. Starck says have a built-in "mathematical beauty" that also refer to the "mathematical genius" of Mr. Melnichenko. The walls of one room are covered in white sting-ray hides, while another is covered in hand-stitched calf’s leather. The main deck features two Michel Haillard chairs made from alligator hides and Kudo horns.

2008 Glastron GS 269 Sport Cruiser

Glastron (Genmar) has been a household boating name for over 50 years. Through innovation and class leading designs they have managed to keep a foothold in this ultra competitive industry. A great example of this innovative thinking is the Glastron 269 Sport Crusier. It is twin cabin a layout with heaps of amenities. I recently had the opportunity to take a close look at this cabin cruiser.

The boat itself is really almost 27 feet long. However at 5,830 lbs before trailer it is still towable with a full size pickup. The cockpit of the boat is very well laid out. As you board through the transom you will see there is much room for enterntaining. With a sink and cooler outside plus a removable table. The "U" shaped seating offers seating for more than a few. The driver seat is wide and comfortable, offering good visibility over the whole boat.

Going down below you will find that for a boat its size there is a lot of room. The front V-berth area is well laid out. The optional flat screen TV was nice too. It offers a nicely packaged space for a microwave, sink, fridge and stove. The unique thing about this boat is the European design of the aft berth. It is open and spacious. The head has a shower and sink with a hot water system. A person of 6’ can move around nicely without getting too banged up.

For a boat this size if offers what much larger boats offer plus lots of room. Standard power for the basic package is a 5.0 GXI Volvo Penta. Suggested Retail price $57,021 which is on the lower price range for this size boat. Before buying another boat I strongly suggest giving this weekend getaway cruiser the once over. Has anyone else had the opportunity to check it out yet? Let me know what you think.
