With a powerful marine engine producing 160 horsepower, the Ultra LX is the largest and best-riding hull Kawasaki has ever produced, unrivalled range thanks to the industry’s largest fuel tank, and unmatched passenger accommodations and luxury features, the Ultra LX truly is a sport tourer without equal.

The Ultra LX’s new handling features are enough to satisfy most riders. However, it also delivers a major dose of acceleration performance. Its 1,498 cc DOHC in-line four cylinder marine engine is straight out of our top-of-the-line four-stroke runabout, the STX®-15F. Tuned to produce an impressive 160 hp, this engine provides the kind of power that made Jet Ski famous. The race-tuned propulsion features a large diameter 155mm jet pump combined with an oversize impeller and jet nozzle to turn the engine’s power into thrust. This results in superb “bite” on the water, which means stunning acceleration and enough speed to satisfy even the most demanding sport riders.

The foundation of the Ultra LX is the same deep V-hull found in Kawasaki’s new Ultra 250X flagship. It combines confidence-inspiring high-speed stability and excellent rough-water ride manners with responsive turning performance, thanks to a hull 250mm longer and 50mm wider than our current runabouts. The extra size—combined with new hull characteristics give the Ultra LX the rough-water handling and stability you need to enjoy the engine’s impressive performance to the fullest. That responsive, neutral handling also reduces rider fatigue when banked over during high-g cornering, and the hull’s deep 22.50 V-angle easily cuts through swells and waves for a confidence-inspiring ride when the conditions become challenging.

For those that want to ride the Ultra LX forever the Kawasaki team provided enough storage space. The Kawasaki Ultra LX has 53 gal of built-in storage capacity, plus a detachable storage compartment, a detachable drink holder with space for two drink bottles mounted on the center console and a compact storage area integral with the under-seat rear grip ideal for small items.

The Ultra LX is as easy-to-use as it is fast, luxurious and fun. It boasts a clever five-way adjustable steering handle to suit a variety of rider styles and sizes, making it possible to ride in either a standing or sitting position.

The first impression the Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra LX lets after riding is good whit some minor exceptions. For example: the engine has a shudder at low speed that changes to a buzz at speed, because the nose rides low the ride is “wet” even at slow speeds, the reverse lever on the "good" side, but mechanism is a bit sloppy feeling. Although this minor “problems” the ride on the Ultra LX is fantastic, it cuts through waves perfectly.

Strong, 1,498cc, four-stroke engine provides excellent low- and mid-range torque

Fuel Injection
Digital fuel injection provides great throttle response, smooth engine performance and quick acceleration, as well as easy starting and excellent fuel economy
New, high-flow fuel injectors with four orifices are fitted to complement the increased power output and improve combustion efficiency
Single throttle body features a large 60mm bore diameter

Jet Pump
To efficiently convert the engine’s horsepower into thrust, an all-new, large-diameter 155mm jet pump was designed
Developed based on feedback from Kawasaki’s race machines, this pump was specially designed to deliver stable output and good “bite,” even when riding on rough water
The reverse lever has been moved from the right side to the left side for easier operation

To suit the new 155mm pump, a larger impeller was designed, offering improved thrust in the higher speed ranges
The sophisticated three-blade unit delivers both high performance and quiet operation

Guide Vanes
New eight-vane intake guide, to smooth and regulate the flow of water from the impeller for efficient and powerful propulsion
Eight guide vanes provide superior “traction” compared to the older six-vane system

Ride Plate
Features a groove from the center to the rear of the ride plate, to enhance straight-line stability


Kawasaki Ultra LX

The new hull was designed based on feedback from Kawasaki’s IJSBA championship winning racing machines
Offers a combination of high stability and responsive handling in both calm and rough-water conditions
Delivers the neutral handling and turning characteristics that made the Kawasaki JET SKI famous
The new super-strong hull is 250mm longer, to help provide stable handling performance
Although it has a similar V-shape to the JET SKI STX-15F, the Ultra LX’s hull enables a high bank angle, for motorcycle-like turning performance. This reduces the side G-loads imposed on riders during turns
The V-angle at the bottom of the hull has been changed to 22.5 degrees to help prevent spinouts during sharp turns and to provide a smoother ride in rough water
To avoid concentrating heavy components towards the rear, the battery is located inside the front storage area near the center of the machine. This remote location also frees up space inside the engine bay

Bond Flange & Bumper
The bottom of the hull slants upwards steeply from the center section to the bow, allowing the Ultra LX to penetrate swells and waves with less shock. At low speeds the result is extreme stability; at higher speeds it enables the hull to push through waves rather than bounce over top of them

Newly developed sponsons extend further from the hull, providing stable wallow-free straight-line performance while helping to retain the narrow hull design. They also contribute significantly to the Ultra LX’s excellent maneuverability when changing direction (particularly at higher speeds)

Quattro KSD
Ridges across the bottom of the bow, Kawasaki Splash Deflectors deflect water splashing forward from under the hull. To reduce spray during high-speed turns, the earlier triple splash deflector now has one more deflector mounted at the top. Whether turning or blasting straight ahead, at high speeds or low, the Quattro KSD minimizes spray, allowing greater rider concentration

Kawasaki Smart Steering (KSS®) is equipped to help new riders better enjoy the performance of this remarkable machine
Smart Learning Operation (SLO)-Mode function allows newer riders to become familiar with the handling and response of this JET SKI watercraft at a more relaxed pace before unleashing the full performance of the Ultra LX. Two separate keys (one for SLO-mode, one for full-power operation) help prevent confusion over which setting is in use
