Yamaha designed the VXS as a no thrills model that comes with pretty affordable base price (£ 12,599). It is a pretty basic jet ski that doesn’t come with all the bells and whistles of its more upscale siblings.
To offer this low price, the Japanese company left behind features such as cruise assist, trip control and the adjustable handlebar.
At the heart of the Yamaha VXS lies a High Output 1812cc, 4-cylinder, DOHC, 16V engine which comes without a supercharger. Though despite the fact that the VCS’s engine is not as strong as the one of its bigger brothers, you won’t have any significant complains about the overall performances (maximum speed is electronically limited at 65 mph).
The Jet Ski comes with Yamaha’s ultra-lightweight, high-tech NanoXcel deck and hull with integrated bow spray guard. This lightweight material plays a major role in the acceleration, agility and fuel efficiency departments.

NanoXcel® for the lightest hull in its class
The combination of an extremely lightweight hull and deck – constructed using NanoXcel® technology – helps achieve superb acceleration, top speed, agility and fuel efficiency. NanoXcel® creates an incredibly strong intermolecular bond and a smoother surface compared to conventional manufacturing methods. It’s also 25% lighter.
Multifunction instrument panel with digital meters
All the information you need is available at a glance. While the tachometer displays RPM data, a fuel gauge tells you when it’s time to refuel and the Hours Run counter keeps track of operating time. There’s also a full set of warning systems, including ’Check Engine’ lights with self-diagnostic function.
Extended rear platform
The ’fast back’ profile of the new VXS reveals its sport character. An extended rear platform doesn’t only look good – it’s also a practical area to rest and put on or take off your snorkeling or wakeboarding gear. The strong tow hook is another pointer towards the VXS having a true sporting spirit combined with real practicality.
Eye-catching design and styling
A mono-formed exterior is sleek and imposing in the water. An aggressive profile is accentuated by a ’fast back’ style: the slant from the rear of the seat to the extended rear platform. An add-on engine air intake –in true hot rod style – features on the bow. Finishing design flourishes express the VXS’s sporty character.
