The muscle car gods are smiling down upon us for this year’s SEMA Auto Show. Not only will we be getting a slew of Chevrolet Camaros , but we just heard that Ford will be at the show, and they will be bringing nine customized Mustangs , including one from Ford Vehicle Personalization, one by Street, and one by Tjin.

Maybe the most important souped up Ford will be the Mustang GT customized by Ford Vehicle Personalization. It is coated in a custom white tri-coat color developed by Sherwin-Williams. The paint has coral undertones which are present throughout the car, including the interior where the steering wheel, gauge cluster, shifter knob, and air vents are all accented with this color. The mood accent lighting in the vehicle is even coral, something that is absolutely unique to this vehicle. The interior will also feature white and black Ultrafabrics material on a variety of surfaces, with inserts that resemble carbon fiber. The white material is highlighted on the seats, door inserts, steering wheel, and dash appliqué.

There is already going to be one souped up Hyundai Equus at the 2010 SEMA Auto Show thanks to Rhys Millen Racing , but now we hear that there will be two luxury sedans hitting up the showroom floor in the next week. The second Hyundai Equus comes to us from DUB Magazine and will feature some tasty custom details.

The new DUB Edition Hyundai Equus will be distinguished by a Trex DUB Design mesh grille, DUB Design custom body kit, tinted windows and tail lights, and a custom two-tone, gloss black-and-matte charcoal paint job. The package will be finished by 24" TIS modular style 10 wheels wrapped in Pirelli Pzero Nero Tires.

The interior will be fitted with Infiniti Kappa components including nine Infiniti Kappa Series speakers, KAPPA ONE mono, and KAPPA FOUR four-channel amplifiers. Additionally, the interior of the Equus will feature DUB Design custom leather and suede, a DUB Design illuminated headliner, and custom rear bucket seats. Your time in the comfy interior will be spent listening to the new world-class Lexicon audio system that will also be offered.

The focus on Hyundai’s new flagship sedan shouldn’t be surprising considering the praise it has received since its attack on the luxury car segment. Throw in some sweet modifications from DUB Magazine and we’ll even hop on board and wave our Hyundai badge. Nicely done.

Retro seems to be the name of the game at this year’s SEMA as a few tuners are heading towards the past to recreate some revivals of previous models. We’ve already heard about the Chevrolet Camaro T-Top being displayed by Drop Top Customs, but the people responsible for last year’s HPP Daytona having something else to throw at us. At this year’s SEMA Auto Show HPP Heide Performance Products is at it again with two new projects: a new Trans Am prototype and a customized Chevrolet Camaro. And, hey, if they want to throw in the girls as part of the display too, we wouldn’t mind.

The only information we have on the two cars at the moment is what is shown on the images provided. The Trans-Am concept is based on the chassis of a Chevrolet Camaro and is a revival of the 1970s Pontiac Trans Am Ram Air III. Here they have added some white exterior paint and a couple of blue racing stripes that make this model look even better than the original.

We’ll find out more about these two projects when we hit the showroom floor at the 2010 SEMA Auto Show , so stay with us and we’ll keep you posted!

The entry-level luxury segment doesn’t get the attention of some of the various other segments, such as the luxury sports sedan category. Yet, attention from car lovers matters about as much to sales as one cloud on a sunny day. Photos on the covers of magazines are all well and good, but sales numbers are what really count.

The reason for this is the fact that companies don’t make a whole lot of money selling a few thousand super expensive machines with plush seats, loads of technology, and a massive motor. Sort of like Rolex and Timex, as one makes a better product, but the latter is far wealthier. So, with so many different automakers trying to soak up the sales of the entry-level luxury game, one would think that sales would be spread, but they’re not. One vehicle has maintained dominance over the herd, theLexus ES .

In the past decade, Toyota has created 600,000 of these sedans in the U.S alone, with another 650,000 in the rest of the world. What makes this even better for the Japanese automaker is the lack of incentives that go along with the ES. These things are selling straight up.

Who said green cars can’t have their ‘cool’ cakes and eat them too?
More often filed under the ‘plain and bland-looking’ category, hybrids aren’t often considered as boasting of cutting-edge aesthetics. Fortunately, there are events like SEMA wherein an otherwise mundane-looking vehicle can be given an aggressive makeover.

Take for example this Lexus LS 600h L by Brian Fox’s Fox Marketing. Suffice to say, there’s nothing mundane about this Lexus hybrid. For starters, it comes with a fiberglass aerokit that includes bumpers, fenders, and side skirts courtesy of Artisan Spirits. The package also includes HID fog lights, smoked tailights, and deck wings on the roof and the rear of the vehicle. There’s also the addition of some snazzy-looking 20-inch rims and a hotness-personified Glacier Green paint scheme.

The Fox-tuned LS 600h L is set to take the stage at SEMA and unlike the traditional bombastic cars that are regulars at the show, this car takes the more conservative approach but does so in a manner that it should catch its share of attention from the patrons. After all, there’s still something to be said for tuned-up cars that don’t go screaming ‘Look at me!’ to get some attention.

This is one of them.

Ford will come at this year’s SEMA Show with seven customized versions of Ford F-150 and Super Duty. Themes include a motocross concept, a Pro Football Hall of Fame-dedicated truck and a race car support truck.

Our favorite is the 2011 Ford F-150 by Mickey Thompson. It gets new 35-inch Mickey Thompson Baja Claw TTC Radical tires, Fabtech 6-inch suspension, PIAA auxiliary lighting and Warn Industries winch recovery gear. The interior comes with Katzkin leather and aftermarket audio, video and navigation enhancements.

There is also a F-150 customized by The Custom Shop. This version gets shaved handles, lightweight tonneau cover, lightweight rims and low-rolling-resistance tires help enhance looks and mileage. The green theme carries into the styling, with a custom show paint job with a detailed pinstripe border using a low-VOC-emissions DuPont paint. The interior matches the exterior styling with custom Katzkin tan and black leather.

Mitsubishi UK is offering a new limited edition Lancer with plenty of features and a small price tag. It’s called the 2.0 DI-D Juro and will be limited to 1,000 units each priced at only £14,999.

This new special edition will be distinguished by black leather and 16" 5-Spoke alloy wheels. Other, less luxurious features include air conditioning, cruise control, front fog lamps, steering wheel audio controls, leather steering wheel and gear shift knob, front and rear electric windows, iPod socket, electric and heated door mirrors, and color keyed rear spoiler.

With a sticker price as small as it has, one would think that’s all you got, but Mitsubishi has surprised us all by adding some neat technologies to the sedan. These technologies include a Kenwood high specification multimedia system, integrated Garmin Satellite Navigation, Parrott Bluetooth, iPod connection, and a reversing camera. It also includes a steering wheel control interface allowing the operation of the factory-fitted steering wheel mounted controls.

The 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 DI-D Juro will be offered with a choice of six exterior colors: Cool Silver, Stone Grey, Orient Red, Amethyst Black, Lightening Blue, and Frost White.

This year has been a very successful year for both the Cayenne and the Panamera , with the newly launched SUV selling just under 30,000 units since its launch in May this year, and the luxury saloon in tow with just under 22,000 sales. These sentiments have been echoed by the awards they have managed to amass in such a short amount of time.

Judges and readers from the world’s top motoring magazines have put their opinions down on par during extensive surveys discussing the best cars for 2010 – in a plethora of categories. The guys at Porsche have much to be proud of with both cars taking home numerous accolades each. Both the Panamera and Cayenne have enjoyed the favor of knowledgeable journalists and the public alike, which goes to show just how popular they are.

Drop Top Customs has taken us back to the glory days with their new T-Top Kit for the 2010 Chevy Camaro . The customized Camaro is set to debut at 2010 SEMA next month, and sales for the T-Top kit will start about a month after. For $6,500 you can have the car of your 80’s dreams. Of course, with a kit like this, who will want the Camaro Convertible when Chevrolet actually unveils it?

Along with the cuts in the roof, Drop Top Customs will more than likely add superchargers to all of the Camaros they tune, but they have assured us all that chassis flex will not be an issue.

That’s about all the details we have on the gussied up Camaro, but we’ll have more information after we stop by their booth at the 2010 SEMA Show. We’ll also make sure to drop by the convertible Cadillac CTS Coupe also provided by Drop Top Customs.

Following testing conducted by US NCAP, the 2010 BMW 5 Series has been awarded a full house 5 star safety rating.

BMW has long been the benchmark in the luxury segment for its quality of build and dynamic driving ability, and now with a 5 out of 5 in crash testing, it’s also maintaining elevated levels of safety. In addition to this the new 5 was also awarded a special accolade in recognition of its Assist Advanced eCall - an advanced emergency call system with automatic localization and accident severity detection. Whether BMW have the upper hand in the aesthetics department, we’re not so sure. It definitely is a step in the right direction compared to the old model.

Consumers these days have safety high up on their most sought after features list when purchasing a new car, particularly a family saloon, so this rating should translate into higher profits for the German automaker.
