Kia has expanded its Rio line-up with the revealing of a new sedan version at the 2011 New York Auto Show. The new model will go on sale later this fall and will be offered in three trims – LX, EX and SX - all with a 1.6-liter GDI four-cylinder engine.

The 2012 Kia Sedan follows along the same design language as the 2011 Optima and Sportage. The major work will be done inside the vehicle where it will receive a bold and modern cabin, high quality materials, and the latest technologies available on the market.

"The all-new Rio brings Kia’s successful combination of world-class styling, outstanding fuel economy, advanced technologies and tremendous value to the smallest and most economical vehicle in the Kia lineup," said Michael Sprague, vice president, marketing & communications, KMA. Mazda’s little compact car showed up to the 2011 New York Auto Show with a midcycle refresh that not only provides a refined exterior and interior, but also dishes out a new engine that utilizes Mazda’s innovative SKYACTIV fuel-saving and performance-oriented technologies.

The new engine is the first application in North America of the SKYACTIV technology and improves the Mazda3’s fuel economy by 17%, allowing it to go up to an impressive 40 mpg on the highway.

Next to the Veyron Super Sport Black Carbon Edition , Bugatti also brought theVeyron Grand Sport Matte White to the Shanghai Auto Show. Not much was changed for the fastest car in the world, but the new color combination adds an icy appeal to the overall look of the car.

As its name suggests, this special edition comes painted in matte white combined with blue carbon elements on the Bugatti’s lower section and blue finished alloy wheels. The interior is also painted in a crisp blue and is combined with white stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and gear lever. An aluminum console is also present to dazzle the potential buyer.

The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Matte White continues on with its 8.0L W16 engine because why on earth would anyone change that? This engine produces a spectacular 1001 HP and sprints the car to an impressive top speed of 217 mph.

"This Grand Sport is an example of the versatile possibilities customers have when designing their unique Grand Sport in co-operation with the Bugatti team", explained the President of Bugatti Wolfgang Dürheimer at the Auto Shanghai. "We will continue to expand the design possibilities for the Bugatti brand."

This special Veyron was specially built by the Bugatti customization team to its destined owner‘s exact specifications. That’t right, this baby has already been sold.

The new 2012 Nissan Versa has shown up at the 2011 New York Auto Show, but it isn’t exactly bringing anything we don’t already know about considering it was unveiled as the Tiida at the Shanghai Auto Show. It is built on a new global "V" (for Versatile) platform which is a bit shorter than the previous platform, but has a longer wheelbase which provides a tad bit more room in the backseat for passengers. Another great thing about the new Versa/Tiida is that it aims to deliver a fuel economy of 33 mpg on the combined cycle.

"Compact cars are getting a lot of attention lately due to rising fuel costs and concerns about the environment. Yet many buyers are disappointed in what they find – vehicles rife with compromise," says Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc. "This new Versa Sedan, a ‘clean sheet’ ground-up design, takes small cars in a whole new direction – proving that you don’t have to sacrifice style for affordability, interior roominess for a smaller footprint, or drivability for high mpg."

The new Versa sedan will go on sale this summer in three trim levels: Versa Sedan 1.6 S (offered in 5MT and CVT versions), Versa Sedan 1.6 SV (CVT only), and Versa Sedan 1.6 SL (CVT only) with a starting price of $10,990.

Jeep knows how to strut its stuff when it comes to special editions for their rugged lineup of vehicles. We’ve already seen a number of them primed and ready for the 45th Moab Jeep Easter Safari, but the New York Auto Show is getting its own special models, one of them being the Wrangler Mojave. The Mojave pays tribute to the well-known and rugged Mojave Trail and it will go on sale at a starting price of $29,195, excluding the $750 destination fee.

The new Mojave edition is based on theWrangler Sport and features a unique desert theme inside and out. The exterior features a body-color hardtop and fender flares, "Mojave" and lizard decals on the hood and rear, the Sahara model’s side steps, and a new set of mineral gray 17-inch wheels shod with 32-inch tires. There are three colors to choose from: Sahara Tan, Bright White, and Black combined with a black fuel filler door and taillamp guards.

The interior follows in the desert theme with dark saddle leather and a lizard logo embossed on the front seats. There is also a unique driftwood surrounding the vents, front-passenger grab handle, steering-wheel spokes, and door-handle inserts.

Chrysler introduced two new SRT8 models at the 2011 New York Auto Show, but the one that jumped out at us the most was the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. Our apologies to the Chrysler 300 SRT8 , but we just like the bigger and more rugged look a tad better. The new Jeep comes with performance-oriented styling, world-class ride and handling, benchmark braking, and race-inspired interior.

This monstrous machine is powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 that delivers an estimated 465 HP and 465 lb.-ft. of torque. Coincidentally, it’s the same engine used in the Chrysler 300 SRT8, but we can fit the kiddies and the dogs in the back.

"The all-new 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 is the ultimate performance SUV, delivering a combination of Jeep Jeep capability and utility, world-class performance, luxury and refinement, and advanced innovative technology," said Mike Manley, President and CEO — Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "Jeep vehicles have long been known for their off-road capability. In addition to Jeep four-wheel-drive traction and utility, the Grand Cherokee SRT8 takes capability to a new level by giving driving enthusiasts extreme performance for the street and track."

Bugatti is lighting up the Shanghai Auto Show floor with a special edition Bugatti Veyron Super Sport developed especially for the Chinese market. The special edition will be completely painted in black visible carbon carbon, then combined with an interior that mixes "Snow Beige" and "Beluga Black."

The black carbon paint is combined with polished and anodized aluminum insertions, a new set of alloy wheels, EB logos on the wheel caps, and a fuel filler cap and rear lid. The interior of the Bugatti special edition will get "Snow Beige" leather for the seats, and that color will transfer over to the floors mats and the stitching on the steering wheel as well. The doors and center console are all dressed up in carbon fiber.

Under the hood, everything remains unchanged. This beautiful beast will feature a 16-cylinder engine with a total output of 1200 HP. With this amount of power, the Super Sport will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and will hit a top speed of 267 mph.

Bugatti will only build one unit of this exquisite vehicle, and to make matters worse, that model has already been sold to a customer in China.

Kia has unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show a new sedan model based on the Rio platform. It will be called K2 and was designed and engineered specifically for the Chinese market. Sales will begin this June, and it will be followed by a five-door hatchback later in August.

Speaking at the Kia press conference at the Shanghai Motor Show, Hyoung-Keun Lee, Vice Chairman of Kia Motors, said, "We are confident that this all-new model for China will provide the momentum needed for Kia not only to remain as one of China’s fastest growing automotive brands but also to become a top 10 automaker in the local market in terms of quality and customer satisfaction."

The new K2 sedan takes its inspiration from the popular K5 sedan, or Optima as you might know it, including sophisticated lines that create a dynamic, bold and sophisticated exterior appearance. The Chinese customers will have to choose between a 1.4-liter or 1.6-liter Gamma petrol engine mated to a manual or automatic transmission.
