Next to the 500 by Gucci , Fiat also brought the 500 Coupe Zagato to the Geneva Motor Show. This 2+2 concept was created by the Italian company in cooperation with Zagato and is inspired by the namesake predecessor built in the 1950 by the famous Italian coach-builder.

The concept comes with a completely revamped exterior style and a more aggressive appeal. In addition, the unique shape of the roof features the characteristic "double hump", the true emblem of Zagato Zagato , teaming the lowering of the car with retaining excellent interior comfort. The concept will be distinguished by burnished chrome exterior elements, 17" "chrome shadow" wheels with a brand new double spoked shape and synthetic inserts.

The concept is powered by a TwinAir engine that delivers a total of 105 HP and 155 Nm of torque at 2,500 rpm.

UPDATE 03/15/11: While it was first introduced as a concept, the quirky Fiat 500 Coupe Zagato may be green-lighted for production soon. Designed by legendary Italian design house Zagato, the stylish concept Fiat 500 could be designated with a ’limited edition’ tag, and even better, could also make its way in the US. If these prove to be accurate, there’s no telling what kind of changes will be made from the concept version, although as a limited edition model, we can expect it to keep some of custom features that makes this Fiat 500 Coupe stand out from the rest.

The most impressive model ABT brought to the 2011 Geneva Motor Show was the R8 GT S , but alongside the luscious R8, the German tuner also brought a nifty package for the new generation Audi A6 . The modified A6 includes a some exterior updates and some changes under the hood too.

The exterior package includes new side skirts, a front spoiler, a rear skirt insert, 4-end pipes, and a new rear spoiler. No changes were made for the interior, but the luxury sedan is luxurious for a reason, so no changes were necessary for the inside of it.

For the most powerful engine in the A6 line-up, ABT Sportsline reworked the power from a standard 300 HP to an impressive 410 HP. However, the 3.0 TDI engine has also received two different updates, getting the power up to 282 HP or 310 HP from a standard 245 HP.

The Porsche 911 is a car that needs no introduction and is one of the main reasons people are forgiving Porsche for their awkward and uncharacteristic sedan, the Panamera . With these reasons in tow, it always makes us a little nervous to hear that a tuning firm has picked up a 911 to undergo their own transformation of the car. We’ve seen our fair share of tuning disasters, but we must say one of the best types of tuning upgrades for a sports car is when the tuners decided to only bump up the power. Now that is something we can always get on-board with.

So hitting up the 2011 Geneva Motor Show floor was Swiss tuning firm, Sportec , and their package for the Porsche 997 Turbo . The package is called the SPR1 FL and includes an impressive horsepower update for the standard 3.8-liter flat-six engine. Sportec has taken the 500 hp up to a phenomenal 858 hp. No changes were made on the exterior - except for a new rear wing needed to improve the aerodynamic, - but who needs them with that amount of power under the hood, right?

In order to obtain that incredible 378 HP upgrade, Sportec added new hybrid turbochargers with a high performance intercooler, a smooth flow air inlet, a carbon fiber ram air induction system, a new exhaust system, titanium connecting rods, and continuous camshaft phasing. With this power under the hood, the SPR1 FL will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds, to 124 mph in under 8 seconds, and to 186 mph after only 10 seconds. Top speed goes up to an incredible 236 mph.

Land Rover is joining the growing number of automakers climbing on the hybrid bandwagon with a new variant for their Range Rover Sport . Called the Range_e, this new hybrid prototype made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show this week and is the first Land Rover to go this route. The Range Rover Sport attracts the most customers from the widest demographic for Land Rover and thus gave them the best place to start in terms of marketing a hybrid vehicle to the public. Expect more models to debut in the future as gas prices rise and emissions standards are tightened – the only thing we are never going to see go hybrid is the legendary Defender .

Being able to engineer a vehicle with legendary Range Rover off-road capability and improved fuel economy is no small feat. A major issue for large hybrid SUVs is weight; lowering the curb weight of these vehicles often requires taking out vital parts of an off-roaders drive train such as the four-wheel drive components. Land Rover has decided to utilize a diesel-hybrid unit so that a small engine can still produce enough torque to get the heavy vehicle moving and give it enough muscle off-road.

It’s possible that previous ownership by Ford and BMW could have given Land Rover a jump start in the hybrid vehicle market with increased technical know-how, but these products will remain 100% Land Rover. John Edwards, Land Rover global brand director, said: "This system is the first example of a premium plug-in hybrid that also provides the full four-wheel-drive capability that you would expect from a Land Rover. It is an evolution of the production intent diesel-electric hybrid technology which will be launched in our next generation of SUVs and will be available for customers within the next two years."

America is unlike any other country on the planet, larger than most and with the most diversified population. Why do you think they call us the “melting pot”? This diversity is for certain, but another thing that makes America unique is their taste in vehicles. Unlike many countries around the world, the United States seems to enjoy riding high, while having the luxury of a car-like ride. Seems counter-intuitive, as those that like riding high go for trucks and those that want a smooth and cushy ride opt for sedans. Yet, the crossover, or CUV, has become a bigger hit than the Whopper and that’s mighty impressive.

Nissan has come to the table a tad late, but they have made up for their tardiness with a pleasant all-rounder: the Rogue . It blended Murano style with smaller proportions and, for some, it worked. Now, three years later, Nissan has revamped the Rogue in the hopes of garnering strong sales before a major refresh is in order.

Next to the impressive Vision ConnectDrive concept , BMW has also revealed an impressive package for the BMW Z4 at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. Called Design Pure Balance, the new equipment package comes with striking interior and exterior options, and will go on sale in the summer of 2011.

The BMW Z4 Design Pure Balance is painted in a Mineral White metallic finish offered exclusively for this package. This color offers fine metallic pigmentation for a brilliant impression. However, if the white metallic hue doesn’t tickle your fancy, the new package can also be combined with other non-metallic and metallic exterior paint finishes.

Typically, a white exterior look is combined with a black interior, but BMW has gone against the grain with Cohiba Brown leather contrasted by Lotus White stitching for the seats and the same Cohiba Brown for the dashboard. Black isn’t far behind, though, as the rest of the leather trimmed elements are found in black with Umbra seams. Fineline Anthracite wood and sports seats come standard with the package.

With a name like Design Pure Balance, there is no way BMW would think to touch the inner mechanical workings of the Z4. That leaves us with the standard 3.0L I-6 engine producing 255hp and 220 lb-ft of torque.

Now if only the BMW Z4 Design Pure Balance came with Cohiba brand premium cigars. Then we’d be in business!

The Carlsson C25 officially debuted last year at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, and this year it’s back in Geneva with more goodies and an even cooler name. The Super GT C25 Royale is a tuning project based on the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG . It includes an abundance of carbon fiber elements, as well as optimized driving dynamics and perfected electronics. Carlsson will only build 25 units of the C25 Royale, one unit for each country the vehicle will be sold in.

"There are more than enough super cars around that can only be driven safely on a racing track", says engineer Markus Schuster, Managing Director at Carlsson. "We deliberately wanted to develop a car that is exclusive on the one hand but can still be used for the daily commute to the office. A Super GT which can go from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.7 seconds while at the same time offering the utmost in ride comfort."

Volvo has officially unveiled its next hybrid vehicle for the mass market at the Geneva Motor Show. The Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid will introduce several new technological innovations that Volvo Car has been developing. Devel Devel opment of the V60 Hybrid has taken place at the same time as the full electric C30 model and with production of that ready to begin, the V60 is not far behind.

This new model will be capable of driving 32 miles on full electric power and produce only 49g/km of carbon dioxide emissions. This car features a unique system of a diesel engine powering the car in some situations and the electric motor kicking in for others. Multiple driving modes can be selected by the driver depending of he would rather use full electric power or the two in conjunction – this differs from many hybrids because the car will usually make the decision when to use electric power. In order to develop these technologies quickly and efficiently Volvo formed a partnership with the Swedish energy supplier Vattenfall in 2007 and has been working on plug in technology ever since.

"In order to get true car enthusiasts to think green, you have to offer them the opportunity to drive with low carbon dioxide emissions without taking away the adrenaline rush that promotes genuine driving pleasure. The V60 Plug-inHybrid has all the traditional properties of a genuine sports wagon. What we’ve done is to spice it up with spearhead technology," says Stefan Jacoby.

In the midst of all the debuts coming out of the Geneva Auto Show, Nissan has decided this would be a perfect opportunity to reveal the Esflow, their new electric concept. However, this isn’t just any old electric car like the Leaf. No, this is an electric sports car that will carry the setup of Nissan’s other electric with a RWD setup and a more stylish exterior.

The new Esflow concept is powered by two electric motors that are charged by laminated lithium-ion batteries. Each motor is designated to its own rear wheel, taking the Esflow from 0 to 60mph in around 5 seconds with an autonomy of 240kms (150 miles) on one charge.

The concept is said to take its color inspiration from glaciers with its highly reflective solidified liquid with blue tints. The hood of the car is stretched to capacity for a longer and sleeker look while the steeply raked, wrap around windscreen adds a touch of finesse to the vehicle.

We can’t imagine seeing this concept hit the production line, but it will be interesting to see what Nissan can get out of something like this in the future.

UPDATE 03/01/11: This review has been updated with the Esflow’s full specs, as well as new images.

Novitec Rosso , the same tuning firm that brought us the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Race 606 Carbon Ferrari California , debuted its latest Maranello Monster at the Geneva Auto Show. We’ve been hearing the rumors for a couple of weeks and it’s actually true that they have created a more insane version of the 599 GTO . This car is the ultimate Ferrari of the moment – there is no supercar level (Enzo) model available and if you want the very best that a prancing horse can deliver, then the 599 GTO will have to suffice. Luckily, there are enough crazy rich guys out there for a company like Novitec Rosso to exist and be able to bring us Ferrari GTOs with almost 900hp!

Not much was done to the exterior of the Ferrari in terms of aerodynamics, but the makeover provided for the engine more than makes up for whatever they did do on the outside. Still, Ferrari lore is not lost on the tuners at Novitec Rosso and their paintjob brings back a storied car of Ferrari’s history . The thing that tends to happen with tuning firms is that the original character of the car and the manufacturer are replaced with flashy wheels and oversized wings. Novitec has managed to restrain themselves and respect the 599 for what it is while still getting more power out of the mighty V12. Anything else done to the vehicle is just icing on the cake.

UPDATE 03/02/2011: This review has been updated with the Novitec Rosso Ferrari 599 GTO’s full specs.

UPDATE 04/03/11: Novitec Rosso has released a walk-around video of their tuned up Ferrari 599 GTO. Words are great and all, but it doesn’t beat watching the a run-around of the car’s exterior and interior.
