The most powerful Genesis Coupe right now is powered by a 3.8 liter V6 engine that delivers 306 HP, but things are about to change. Hyundai and Rhys Millen Racing have teamed up for their fourth year collaboration to introduce the new RM500. The Hyundai Genesis Coupe RM500 by Rhys Millen Racing uses Hyundai’s most powerful engine: the 5.0-liter Tau V8.

This monstrous engine has been combined with a custom RMR stainless exhaust with GReddy rear section muffler, titanium tips, oil cooler, and rear differential cooler. These carefully chosen accessories team up to squeeze out an impressive 450 HP from the powerful V8 engine. Now that’s the kind of output a sports coupe like this deserves.

"The RMR RM500 Genesis Coupe is a natural home to showcase the performance capabilities of the powerful Tau V8 engine, available in the 2012 Genesis sedan," said Mike O’Brien, Vice President, Product and Corporate Planning, Hyundai Motor America. "Rhys Millen Racing has taken the Tau’s power and the Coupe’s tuner-friendly driving architecture to create a true show-stopper for SEMA this year."

Here’s a vehicle that may be sporting an orange and black combination, but has nothing to do with the spooky and wicked Halloween season. This is the Mazda MX-5 Super20 , a vehicle whose name may sound a bit familiar due to Mazda’s entry into SEMA last year. The 2010 Super20 was created to celebrate the MX-5’s 20th anniversary, but this year, Mazda decided to bring a 2.0 version of that same vehicle with a killer paint job and a load of accessories.

The 2011 Mazda MX-5 Super20 features a Hyper Orange Mica exterior paint finish with black stripes to soften the bright blow. The paint job is topped off with a stationary, glossy black hardtop to replace the vehicle’s standard soft-top. The interior has also been modified and now features a color-matched roll bar and black leather seats with suede seat inserts and channel and orange contrast stitching.

The Super20 was also privy to a few performance modifications, such as a DPTune reflashed ECU, a Racing Beat 304-stainless steel header and exhaust, and Racing Beat hollow front and rear anti-roll bars. These features were joined by an ACT organic street clutch, MazdaSpeed coil overs and a shock tower brace, Power Slot slotted brake rotors, StopTech stainless steel brake lines and street performance brake pads, and SpeedSource front brake ducts. The MX-5 Super20 was finished with black 16-inch Enkei RPF1 twin-spoke racing wheels, Toyo Proxes RA-1 245/45ZR16 high-performance tires, and 20mm H&R Track+ bolt-on wheel spacers in the rear and 15mm Sparco wheel spacers in the front.

From the looks of things, we think Mazda threw together the Super20 last year and decided to really work hard this year to present a Super20 worthy of being called a celebratory vehicle.

Gotta love those leaked documents! Whether this document was actually leaked by a stealth insider or Toyota is trying to get ahead of Subaru in the FT-86 game, the new Toyota FT-86’s (or Scion FR-S as it will be sold in the US market) specifications have been secretly released to the world. This comes about two months ahead of the official Subaru and Toyota/Scion debuts in December at the Tokyo Motor Show.

The new FT-86 will be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a total output of 197 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 150 lb-ft of torque at 6,600 rpm, as well as a fuel economy of 31.52 mpg. The numbers are a bit disappointing, but what’s impressive is the car’s total weight: only 2,662 lbs.

The FT-86/FRS will be offered in two versions: High Spec and Low Spec. The top version has front LED lights, a leather steering wheel, 6 audio speakers (low spec has 2 speakers), a white rev counter with shift light, and sport pedals. The High Spec model also has "smart entry and start" and 17" wheels. The Low spec model gets 16" wheels.

That’s all she wrote for now, but stay tuned as the official debut in Tokyo gets closer and Subaru and Toyota get more anxious to reveal their secrets!

You might remember the Ring Brothers from their Ford Mustang "Producer" project announced last month. Well, now the tuner is back with a very cool 1970 Camaro unveiled at the 2011 SEMA Auto Show called the "Diversion." The project was completed to bring the memory of the coolest Camaro ever back to life.

The new Diversion project features a BASF Mineral Gray paint and was built on a custom-built chassis with a specially fabricated body that includes extended rockers. The Ring Brothers paid extra attention to every detail of the car and all items have been carefully crafted.

Back in the 1970s, the Camaro delivered a total of 375 HP, but since the Diversion is all about bringing the past to the present, it has been updated to an impressive 650 HP. For this, the standard engine has been replaced with a GM LS7 engine mated to a Tremec TKO-600 5-speed transmission.

The modernization of the Camaro Diversion is pretty sweet, but don’t get too excited because it was only built as a one-off model.

It’s time to take a little break from all of the Camaro and Mustang tuning projects debuting at the 2011 SEMA Auto Show to take a quick look at a different type of concept. The Suzuki Grand Vitara Marine Concept was developed by students at Ohio Technical College and is definitely something that would cathc the eyes of just about anybody. The Marine Concept is based on a 2012 Suzuki Grand Vitara and uses a unique convertible design, a cool exterior paint scheme, a Suzuki outboard motor, and over-sized chrome wheels wrapped in toyo off-road tires.

As if those features weren’t enough, the Marine Concept also includes a bull bar bumper with a winch, bar side steps, a hood scoop, a shaved door handle kit, LED underbody and headlights, a Hydro cell provided by Hydro Fuel 2 Go, and chrome exhaust tips. Adding to the oceanic design is an ocean liner horn and a surfboard rear view mirror, while technological additions include a DVD headrest entertainment system, a backup camera, and hydrogen generator electronics provided by Square One Energy.

"The Grand Vitara Marine Concept exemplifies the unique combination of passion and innovation, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the finished product," said Jeff Holland, director of public relations and social media, American Suzuki . "It was a pleasure working with the students at Ohio Technical College, and we hope this motivates other groups to creatively express themselves and the passion they have for Suzuki and the automotive industry."

The list of customized Ford Mustangs to be displayed in SEMA is quite long, but it seems that everyone, including Ford , is pretty excited by one particular project: a new Ford-licensed 1965 Mustang convertible body shell. This new project will give customers the possibility to put their classic dream Mustang ragtop back on the road.

The body shell is made of higher-grade steel than the original and includes the doors, the trunk lid, and all the sheet metal from the radiator support to the taillight panel except the hood and front fenders. Those items are available separately. The price for the body shell starts at $15,000.

"The 1964-66 Mustang is the most restored vintage vehicle. But the number of original 1964-66 vintage bodies is shrinking every year," said Dennis Mondrach, Ford Restoration Parts licensing manager. "Most of the original Mustangs left in scrapyards are rusted or wrecked beyond repair. The new body shell is made of virgin metal and uses modern welding techniques. It comes rustproofed, and after final adjustment and finish preparation of the body panels, it is ready for painting and final assembly."

There’s no doubt that there will be Chevrolet Camaros littered throughout the SEMA Auto Show floor in Las Vegas, but one of the most impressive packages will be this Camaro Hot Wheels concept inspired by the Custom Camaro. This dazzling green 1:64-scale toy was part of the original 16 Hot Wheels released in 1968, so its presence at the show was surely felt by the kids at heart in attendance.

In order to present this package, Chevrolet took a Camaro SS and modified it with classic Hot Wheels design cues, including flat-black graphics, red-line wheels, and a dazzling metallic-green finish. No other details have been offered just yet, but this project also comes with a wide range of personalization possibilities, inspiring owners to build their own one-of-a-kind creation.

While the original Hot Wheels cars featured a metallic Spectraflame paint finishes, the Camaro Hot Wheels Concept comes with a brilliant, chrome-style finish. But while for the die-cast models the painting process was very simple: polishing and applying a metallic lacquer to them for the Camaro Concept the concept was much more complicated. The reflective finish was created using Gold Touch Inc.’s Cosmichrome product, starting with the application of a primer coat on an immaculately prepared surface. The primer coat was then sprayed with a liquid-metal solution to create the mirror-smooth, silver-chrome base coat. Afterward, the green tint was applied in several layers until the just-right color effect was achieved.

It’s muscle car mania at the 2011 SEMA Auto Show, and Ford has yet another Mustang project to serve as proof. The first kit announced in their SEMA lineup comes from MRT Performance and includes exterior modifications, as well as an engine boost.

The Ford Mustang by MRT Performance comes with a full package, including a ProCharger supercharger, an MRT stainless steel MaxFlow h-pipe and half-back exhaust system, and an H&R coilover performance suspension. As of now, the tuner has failed to mention what these accessories have added to the car’s performance, but we imagine we’ll discover more at SEMA this week. As for the exterior, the tuner has only added an MRT custom hood and MRT custom paint accents, with Sparco race seats being the only addition for the interior.

"No customer wants their Mustang to be the same as their neighbor down the street," said Melvin Betancourt, Ford SEMA design manager. "Mustang comes equipped with a solid foundation of great design and performance, but people want to express themselves through accessories and upgrades. They can go as far as making it a track car, or using it as a style standout that’s for touring."

H&R Springs are quite famous around the world for their impressive suspensions systems. And at the SEMA Show the tuner will unveil a very cool Ford Mustang just as another proof of how customizable the iconic pony car is.

The package includes superior performance with a Flowmaster stainless steel exhaust, Edelbrock E-Force supercharger and Pirelli P Zero front and rear tires. And because we are talking about a H7R package, the chassis also receives an upgrade with an H&R Springs Coil RSS sport suspension, front and rear sway bars and Triple C camber adjustment bolts.

For the exterior the Mustang has received a Street Scene Equipment body kit and a very cool blue paint by Tri-Star Enterprise. No details if any changes have been made for the interior, but we bet we will see some changes in there too.

More details about this car will be revealed after its official debut in Las Vegas.

Hurst, Street Scene Equipment, Dodge , and SEMA have teamed up to build a custom Dodge Charger that will be auctioned on eBay with all proceeds going to SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund. The auction ends on October 28, 2011, just in time for the winner to take advantage of the additional SEMA ticket prize. This particular Dodge Charger will actually be the only one Hurst will customize this year.

The Dodge Charger Hurst Edition will be equipped with Hurst wheels and tires, an Eibach suspension setup, a Flowmaster exhaust, and Hurst badges for the exterior. The badges will also find their way inside of the car, along with Katzkin leather interior with red and black Hurst logos in the headrests, a Hurst shifter, Hurst floor mats from Star West, and a Grant steering wheel. The list of equipment will include an 8.4" Uconnect Touch infotainment system and a navigation/Rear back up camera.

Under the hood, the Hurst Charger will feature a 5.7L Hemi V8 Engine with fuel saver technology that delivers a total of 370 HP and 395 lbs-ft of torque and 16/25 mpg.
