Have you ever wondered how much power a Dodge Charger can really deliver? Well, it’s definitely not the 292 HP in the standard V6 engine or the 370 HP provided by the muscle car’s current V8 engine. At the 2012 SEMA Auto Show, Mopar is going to show us just how much juice can be pumped from the Charger with a tuning package of their own.

Technically, Mopar cheated in the sense that they stripped the Charger of its engine and threw in a Viper V-10 Mopar crate engine featuring Mopar cold air intakes and a Mopar cat-back exhaust. This engine delivers an impressive 650 HP, but also tones down the emissions to remain eco-friendly.

The rest of the package consists of some exterior and interior updates, starting with a new front chin spoiler, a new hood with functional forward-facing intake, and a roof carry. The hood and decklid feature matte black graphics, while the cool Metallic "Copperhead" exterior paint is combined with matte black on the grille badge and the exclusive 20" lightweight wheels.

For the interior, Mopar has added black Katzkin leather seats with "Copperhead" stitching, which also transfers to the steering wheel, shifter, and armrest. The "Copperhead" logo is also embroidered on the seatbacks.

One of the 24 projects to be displayed by Mopar at the 2012 SEMA Show at the end of October is a stunning customized SRT Viper . Inspired by the company’s racing vehicles, this special Viper features a yellow exterior paint finish and lots of carbon fiber parts.

The sunny exterior finish is bordered by carbon fiber on the underhood and the performance cross X-Brace trimmed in a satin finish with a decal-cut Viper "Stryker" logo in the center. The engine cover is also made of a combination of aluminum and carbon fiber and features the standard SRT logo. The package continues with a carbon fiber aero package and new Mopar coil springs to aid in suspension performance.

For the interior, Mopar is offering accents in the same yellow found on the exterior with black Katzkin leather seats with yellow accents and a six-point safety harness. The final addition for the interior is a new, race-inspired, sand-blasted aluminum Mopar bright pedal kit, with the Viper logo etched in the pedals.

As an option, Mopar is also offering "Track Pack" wheels finished in hyperblack, a front tow hook, and an LED fog lamp kit.

When Thibault Devauze was just an intern at Land Rover, he was handed a big job of designing a crossover SUV to rival the likes of the X6 and the Bentley Continental GTC — an eclectic set of rivals, huh? The project had only a few real rules: make it luxurious, make it a coupe, price it above €100K, and give it the biggest, baddest engine that Land Rover had to offer.

With these guidelines and the base chassis of the Range Rover Sport Supercharged, Devauze came up with the LRGT Concept. After six weeks of designing and sketching, Devauze and two modelers came up with the first ever CAD images of his brainchild. Since then, he has used that model to come up with final results of the concept that, according to his claims, are still on the table at Land Rover.

This model is pegged to sit at the top of Land Rover’s Range Rover lineup. It boasts Lad-Rover’s famed front end with a slight twist, as it rakes rearward more than most current Land Rover SUVs, sans the Evoque . As you stretch over its shallow-raked, hood you come to a roofline that dives into the back end of the crossover. Around the back end you get a pair of circular taillights that cap off a sleek rump and pair of oblong tail pipes are integrated in with the rear bumper.

From the side profile, you find an awesome reverse-wedge design that just seems to fit perfectly with the sharp upper beltline and the massive pair of doors designed to replace the typical 4-door SUV setup.

The driving force under the hood of this massive 4,850 mm (190 –inch) long x 1,995 mm (78-inch) wide x 1,510 mm (59-inch) wide 2,095 kg (4,618-pound) crossover is Land Rover’s supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine that pumps out 540 PS (532 horsepower) and 725 Nm (534 pound-feet) of torque.

From the looks of it, this appears to be the big brother of the Evoque, but we’ll find out in the coming years if this is a production concept or just another one that will be filed away for future model design.

A major auto show isn’t complete these days without the presence of the supremest of all supreme super cars: the Bugatti Veyron . So it’s no surprise that Bugatti has taken to the 2012 Geneva Motor Show to introduce yet another special iteration of the Veyron Grand Sport , this time called the Grand Sport Vitesse. In case you’re wondering, "Vitesse" translates to "speed" in our language.

Suffice to say, there’s really just one description apt for the Grand Sport Vitesse: it’s the fastest serially produced convertible in history. It’s hard to believe Bugatti can keep raising the ante to ridiculous heights with the Veyron, but they always seem to get the job done.

"Once again our engineers worked hard to demonstrate that Bugatti is able to constantly redefine the boundaries of what is technically feasible," said. Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer.

"We gave our all to transfer the achievements of the Super Sport over to the Grand Sport, thereby turning open-top driving itself into an extraordinary experience at high speed."

Judging from what they’ve created, we’re guessing that Bugatti is quite pleased with how the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse turned out.

UPDATE 10/05/2012: Bugatti has unveiled a very cool video presenting the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse in action. Enjoy!

When Toyota Motorsport GmbH developed the TMG EV P001 specifically to set the electric vehicle lap record at the Nürburgring, we knew Toyota was onto something special. Then it released a follow up to the P001 specifically to run in the 2012 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and set a new EV record of 10:15.380 up the hill, and we were simply blown away.

Toyota then decided it was time to put the P002 to the test and see if it could beat the P001’s record-setting time around the `Ring. The P002 did not disappoint, as it smashed the P001’s record by 25 seconds, placing it in the top-15 times ever on the Nürburgring (at the time).

With the TMG EV P002 firmly situated in the history books, we felt it was the right time to take a closer look at this purpose-built race car and see what it’s like under the microscope.

The next major event of the Fall is the SEMA Auto Show and if there haven’t been enough reasons to follow the vehicles that will be attending, this next model should seal the deal. The guys over at IND Distribution will be headed to Las Vegas with a special project based on the new BMW M5 . The tuner has yet to offer any details on this car’s specifications, but they did promise that it will be the "world’s fastest M5 ." Has this caught your attention yet?

IND Distribution wants to keep as much of their new project secret as possible, but these images do reveal a special feature that certainly starts things off right. The IND BMW M5 is sporting a smooth carbon fiber roof. Aside from that key feature, we can also see Recaro seats, special safety equipment developed by Fall Line Motorsports, and new KW suspensions.

We’re willing to bet our paychecks that this list of features will be much longer than that, especially since there is no mention yet as to the power upgrades provided. This M5 can’t be the world’s fastest without a good boost in power. All we can do now is wait and see "the absolute best F10 M5 possible" when it debuts at the 2012 SEMA Auto Show, which starts on October 30, 2012.

Maserati unveiled the GranTurismo MC Stradale at the 2010 Paris Auto Show and two years later, the company is bringing the MC Stradale package back, but it’s the GranCabrio that will benefit from its features.

The GranCabrio MC is 48 millimeters longer than the standard GranCabrio and will adopt a highly sporty and aggressive look. Its front end was inspired by the coupe version of the MC Stradale, while the rear gets a large spoiler, with the third brake light built into the luggage compartment inside the spoiler.

The Maserati GranCabrio MC Stradale will also utilize the Coupe’s 4.7 liter V8 engine that delivers a total of 460 HP and a peak torque of 383 lbs-ft at 4,750 rpm. The engine is mated to an automatic six-speed ZF transmission and will sprint the car from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds and up to a top speed of 179 mph.

UPDATE 10/02/2012: Maserati has unveiled a cool trailer video for their latest GranCabrio MC. In this video, the new MC races through mountain roads, providing us with an opportunity to hear the aggressiveness of its 4.7L V8 engine. Enjoy!

Subaru ’s line-up for the 2012 Paris Auto Show wasn’t very impressive, but it did include a very cool BRZ concept car. The concept was inspired by the Subaru XT - a small coupe sold from 1985 to 1991 - hence the name. Subaru barely offered any details on it, but it’s clear that the concept features a more radical look than the standard BRZ and most likely previews some design elements we’ll see in the future STI version .

The Subaru BRZ XT Line Concept benefited from a new carbon fiber spoiler and diffuser, along with carbon fiber exterior mirrors and roof. There is also a new set of 18" wheels painted in Black Silica. For the interior, carbon fiber trim was combined with red leather for the door panels and the dashboard, and "XT Line" logos adorn the interior as well.

Aside from the aesthetic modifications, Subaru also added a Torsen differential, HID projectors, and a number of SRS airbags. No changes were made to the power source, so the XT Concept is powered by the usual 200 HP 2.0-liter horizontally-opposed boxer engine.

One of the most important Ferrari debuts at the 2012 Paris Auto Show was the chassis for the upcoming F70 supercar , but while it undoubtedly caught all of the attention in Paris, Ferrari ’s stand included a few other very cool vehicles. Visitors have seen cars ranging from the new F12berlinetta to a very special FF that certainly has a feature worth mentioning.

This particular FF was equipped with a new full-length panoramic roof that allows for more light to enter the car. According to Ferrari, this new roof features "a special reflective glass (LowE) that gives occupants a genuine open-air driving feeling, while providing thermal and acoustic insulation."

No other details on this new glass roof were provided, leaving us to wonder if this will be a new feature for the sports car or just an attention grabber in Paris. Production for this feature would be a little controversial considering the added weight a panoramic glass roof would add to the FF, and the effect that weight would have on the performance numbers of the vehicle. The design for the FF is already questionable in many people’s minds; why add another negative by messing with the performance the customer can get from the 660 HP V12 engine?

If you want to take a break from all the Paris Auto Show-related news, check out some of the new details we dug up on the next big auto show of the year: SEMA. Mopar has unveiled a series of teaser images for their upcoming line-up, which will be presented in Las Vegas from Tuesday, October 30, 2012, to Friday, November 2, 2012. These images only show five different vehicles, but the company has promised that more than 20 Moparized Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Fiat, and SRT vehicles will be at the show.

The teaser images show a widebody Fiat 500 , a custom RAM pickup, an updated Dodge Charger ,
a heavily modified Jeep, and - our favorite - a very nicely updated Dodge Dart . With its growing list of Mopar-first features, including Electronic Vehicle Tracking Systems (EVTS), Wireless charging, Vehicle-information apps, and Electronic owner manuals, we’re psyched to see what Chrysler’s service, parts, and customer-care brand has to offer at this year’s SEMA Auto Show.

"At Mopar, we always look forward to the SEMA season," said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand. "The show is an opportunity for us to inspire owners to customize their vehicles, and it’s the perfect place to showcase our vast portfolio of quality-tested performance parts and accessories."
