The Honda Accord is a wonderful car, but every once in a while you get tired of seeing it all over the road. Everybody knows somebody who owns a Honda Accord. We know that was a line used by Toyota , but it works in this situation as well.

In order to avoid being just another Accord driver, we have been having some fun in the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ and, too be honest, there aren’t many on the road.

In our opinion, the name is a big reason why this car won’t sell. When one thinks of the Malibu they think of the bland and stylistically uninteresting previous generation Malibu and no matter how many commercials Howie Long stars in, that opinion isn’t likely to change anytime soon.

On looks alone, the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ isn’t that bad looking and shows a giant step in the right direction.

The exterior is sleek, handsome, and much fitter and hipper than the old Malibu. Even the Cobalt looks like an unattractive mongrel next to the Malibu. While not as good looking as the Accord, Civic , or Mazda3 , the Malibu isn’t an ugly duckling.

A few weeks ago we took a trip to a local bar to watch our hometown baseball team, the Cleveland Indians. Normally we would just go to the game because the tickets are pretty cheap, but even $5 is a bit much to watch a team that really stinks.

Going into the game it was hard to get excited because we have won very few games and are in last place in the division, so needless to say, we weren’t expecting a whole lot. Amazingly though, the team did pretty well and even won the game.

It wasn’t easy for them, but it was determination that brought them a well deserved win. The same can be said for Suzuki . It’s been quite some time since they have been anything to write home about, but after years of hard work and staying under the radar, they finally have a winner on their hands.

The 2010 Suzuki Kizashi was one of those cars where you never quite knew what to expect. Sure, people have written that it was good and a step in the right direction for the company, but, like buying a generic brand cereal, you never want to believe the hype no matter what they tell you or how good it might be.

A few years ago Audi started a big clean diesel push in the United States market when they brought the Q7 TDI over. The Q7 TDI was one of the most fuel efficient seven-seat SUVs on the market, but man was it ugly. Thankfully, the diesel Q7 was just the first step for the German company in its diesel push. Welcome to the Audi A3 Sportback TDI .

The A3 is the entry-level model for Audi here in the U.S. Previous models have been sold with a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder or a 3.2-liter V6 engine that were petrol powered. Now, Audi has added a new motor to the lineup, a diesel motor. We had a chance to take the diesel hatch out on the streets of Wisconsin for a few hours.

The A3 is in the same market as its brother, theVolkswagen Golf and the BMW 1-Series . It comes in front and all-wheel drive modes with a transverse-mounted engine. Unlike our European brethren, we only get the five-door model.

Who in the world said family sedans needed to be boring? Whoever they were, they must not have driven the 2010 Nissan Altima 3.5 SR. The new performance Altima is still a perfect family sedan and one of the best cars to drive in its segment.

The new Altima gets some minimal surgery and it would take a person with incredible eyes to find most of the changes. Yet, what Nissan did is make the car more aggressive and, we have to say, the 3.5 SR looks quite good.

Some of the new toys for 2010 include a newly shaped hood and “T-grille” that give the car a wings sort of look. A new front bumper, and what Nissan refers to as the “license plant finisher”, is at the rear. The taillights are some of best in class, with sharp angles and different colored lights. From the side, the new 17-inch alloy wheels help give the sedan a planted look.

Nissan gives buyers a few engine options to choose from. First, there is a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder that produces 175 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. This motor is capable of 23 miles per gallon in the city and 32 on the highway. This version of the Altima isn’t our favorite, as the engine doesn’t quite have the power to compete with the new Hyundai Sonata or the great noise of the Subaru Legacy.

When Toyota unveiled the FT-86 concept at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show they announced the production version would be priced in the $20K area, but a Toyota insider revealed that the mixed Toyota/Subaru sports coupe will cost more than expected. This means that the cheap, entry level sports car that was anticipated will now make the jump to $23K with the range topper climbing to $26K.

How could this happen? It’s pretty simple, really. After convincing the top dogs over at Toyota that they could produce this type of vehicle that would be cheap and have a clean, efficient engine, it seems that the Subaru boxer engine did not live up to its side of the deal. Turns out, the engine is neither clean nor efficient and this little revelation will end up costing Toyota some time and the consumer some money.

Another unexpected turn of events will leave the FT-86 aimed at the target age group of people in their 40s as opposed to the 30s scene that Toyota Toyota anticipated. So far that’s 0 for 2 on Toyota’s part. I wouldn’t recommend they gamble anytime soon. They’ve had enough problems.

The Toyota FT-86 is set for production within the next year, with Subaru’s version to follow shortly thereafter. So what do you think, should Toyota still come at us with a production version?

When Kia threw out the covers of the new Sorento at the Los Angeles Auto Show, it came with an announcement that the CUV will only be offered in two trim levels: the LX and the EX. But seeing as the market for the Sorento may be bigger than they thought, Kia retracted their earlier announcement and said that they would be adding a third version: the SX.

The new SX version comes with some additional features including a smart key with push button start, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, telescopic steering wheel, heated side mirrors, automatic up/down driver-side windows and privacy glass, leather-trimmed seats, heated front seats, electrochromatic mirror with Homelink and a voice-activated navigation system with back-up camera.

For 2011, the Sorento CUV will be offered with a choice of two power plants - a 2.4 Liter four cylinder that delivers 175 HP and 169 lb-ft of torque and a more powerful 3.5 Liter V6 making 276 HP and 248 lb-ft of torque. Both CUVs are coupled to Kia’s new six speed automatic transmission that provides the driver with effortless shifts.

Before you even begin entertaining the thought of driving off on a brand-new 2011 Ford Mustang, wouldn’t it be prudent to check just how much the car costs first? After all, you’d want to come up with a real good excuse on why you think the 2011 Ford Mustang is worth the amount you’re willing to pay for it.

Held off for the longest time, Ford has finally released the pricing for the 2011 Mustang and much to our delight, the cost to have a 2011 Mustang neatly tucked inside your garage isn’t as astronomical as we expected.

The 2011 Ford Mustang will go on sale at a price starting from $22,145 for the V6 Coupe versions. The V6 Premium Coupe is priced at $25,845; V6 Convertible at $27,145 and V6 Premium Convertible at $30,845. Prices for theGT version start at $29,645 for the base version; at $32,845 for the GT Premium Coupe and at $34,645 for the GT Premium Convertible.

The 2011 Ford Mustang V6 is powered by a 3.7 liter V6 engine delivering a total of 305-hp and 280 lb-ft. The GT version gets a 5.0 liter V8 engine with an output of 412-hp and a peak torque of 390 lb-ft.

In Europe it is known as the Opel Insignia, but for the North American market General Motors decided to revive a name first used back in 1973: Regal. Sales of the new Buick Regal Buick Regal sport sedan will begin in the second quarter of 2010, and its main competitors will be the Japanese Acura TSX and Swedish Volvo Volvo S60. The new Regal will be offered in two different trim levels: CXL and CXL Turbo, with prices starting at $26,995 and $29,495 respectively. In 2012 it will get two new versions.

The 2011 Regal will be offered only in the CXL trim (additional ones will be added for the 2012 model year). The Regal CXL will be offered standard with a 2.4 Liter Ecotec direct injected four cylinder engine that delivers a maximum output of 182 HP, however a 2.0 Liter direct gasoline injected turbocharged Ecotec cranking out 220 HP will be offered as an option. Both engines will come mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with driver-shift control.

There is nothing much to say about the new Regal’s design, anyone can recognize the Insignia underneath the Buick badge. With its aggressive styling and tailored applications of Buick Buick ’s signature design cues, such as the waterfall grill, select use of chrome trim and superior fit and finish of the exterior panels. While the interior consists of all the latest technologies to keep it up to date in the 21st century: navigation, Harmon Kardon sound system, internal flash drive (1GB), hard drive with 10GB for music and USB port.

After the Hyundai Genesis bagged awards left and right for Hyundai, it’s fair to say that the expectations for the burgeoning Korean brand is now at an all-time high. Both the Genesis Coupe and the Genesis Sedan were so far ahead of the game that it became apparent that the onus was now on Hyundai to release a car that could meet – or even exceed – the expectations set by the Genesis.

Now, Hyundai has that car in the form of the 2011 Sonata.

Thanks in large part to the economic crisis and the continued rise in oil prices, car brands have become more inclined in producing fuel efficient vehicles and veering away from the conventional market segment and tapping into the younger and more out-going market. If there were skeptics that initially doubted Hyundai’s new direction, the Genesis certainly did its part to quell all those doubts. And now that the 2011 Sonata , which is one of seven new models Hyundai is planning to launch within the next two years, is on the horizon, Hyundai is hell-bent on keeping its momentum going.

The Honda CR-V SUV is entering the 2010 model year with refinements and upgrades to the exterior and interior, new features, better fuel economy, and more power. Prices for the new model will range from $21,545 for the CR-V LX 2WD version and will go up to $29,745 for the CR-V EX-L 4WD with Navigation package.

For 2010 the 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine improve power output to 180 hp, a 14 hp increase. City/highway EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings increase to 21/28 mpg on 2WD models and 21/27 mpg on models equipped with Real Time 4WD - an increase of 1 mpg in both city and highway driving on all models.

On the exterior Honda added a freshened front fascia with a new grille and bumper design, a re-sculpted hood, and a new rear bumper shape. A 10-spoke alloy wheel design, standard on CR-V EX and EX-L, replaces the previous 7-spoke alloy wheel design. Interior improvements focus on new features and functionality. Bluetooth HandsFreeLink is now included on models equipped with the available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System. Auto on/off headlights have been added to the CR-V EX-L and the front seats have wider center armrests on all models.
