The Fiat Abarth 500 has become one of the more popular hot hatches to sprout special editions these days and this Abarth 500 ‘Monza’ edition is no different. Limited to only 10 units, this limited run hot hatch pays tribute to the legendary Italian racetrack just north of Milan.

Though it’s not as fancy and as flamboyant as many other special edition 500s we’ve seen in the past, the Abarth 500 Monza’s combination of sound and simple aesthetic interpretation and surprising performance power makes it a real collector’s dream. The fact that only ten people in the world can have a chance to own one makes it that much more enticing.

Exterior and Interior

The 10-off Abarth 500 Monza comes in an Icy White paint finish that also includes two red and blue stripes on the hood and the rear of the car. These stripes were included in the car as a tribute to the official colors of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. Apart from the ill paintwork, the car will also be given an aerodynamic kit courtesy of the boys from Romeo Ferraris. The kit includes a Romeo Ferraris rear diffuser, a hood air intake, and a front carbon splitter. The tires of the car were also changed, taking out the standard versions in favor of a set of 205/40 r17 Yokohama Parada mounted on specific Romeo Ferraris wheels.

The car’s interior is fully loaded with fine Alcantara with the entire cabin upholstered with the fine quality leather material. Likewise, the red and blue stripes that are adorned in the exterior of the 500 Monza also make an appearance in the interior of the hot hatch at the backrest of the seats with the Monza logo also neatly embroidered on them. Each buyer of the car will also receive a brass plate with their names on it and authenticity certificates signifying their ownership of the limited edition 500. Last, but certainly not least, each car will also have its serial number marked on the car’s gear knob.

Performance

In standard form, this Abarth 500 is capable of producing 135 horsepower, a nice number for a hot hatch. Then again, there’s nothing standard about the Abarth 500 Monza. For starters, it has been given a new turbocharger and exhaust system that doubles its output to 260 horsepower. Moreover, to compensate for the added ponies under its hood, the Abarth 500 Monza was was also given Brembo brakes with 280mm discs and four piston calipers.

Pricing

Pricing for the car is available upon request and since it’s Jameslist, whoever’s interested in any of the 10 limited edition models will only need to give Jameslist a holler to find out how much one 500 Monza is going to cost.

Competition

In a segment that’s becoming increasingly more popular by the day, the Abart 500 Monza is not lacking when it comes to competing cars. Just look at how many of its brethren have been given special edition treatments and you’ll understand that has been a favorite car to dress up both from outside and under its hood.
