Okay, just reading the name of this car should make everyone wonder just how much it is going to cost, and don't worry, we'll get to that. First let's introduce the car. The Abarth 500C is typically no more than about $25,000 and features lots of little goodies, like that four cylinder inline engine that delivers a weak 140hp. Now add a tuning package from Fenice-Milano that consists of a little bling bling, and now this expensive ride starts to sparkle.

Exterior and Interior

On the exterior the car features a golden pearlescent white painting with 24K gold particles, gold insertions on the body trims and wheels, and a black fabric roof.

Inside, the redesigned steering wheel has a teak outer ring and a leather interior with 24K gold controls. Even the original carpet floor was replaced with teak. The console is embellished with a gold framed instrument panel and a teak and 24K gold inserts dashboard, whose profiles are handshaped by Fenice Milano’s artisans.

The most impressive part of the car is the iPad Supreme Edition made in 24k gold and diamonds by English designer Stuart Hughes, who specializes in developing technological applications in precious materials. This iPad was especially designed for those who want to make the most of innovation and exclusivity in the on board control instruments. The space for the Ipad provides for complete interaction with the car, which is fitted with a GPS navigation system, a last generation hi-fi that can handle MP3 and all Ipod features, and an internet connection run by wi-fi and sim card.

The Engine

For the engine update, the tuner asked for Romeo Ferrari's help in tricking out the ECU and providing a complete exhaust system with 200-cells catalytic converter. These changes allow the 500C to deliver a total of 200 HP. The brake system has also been completely revised in order to balance the increased power obtained.

The Price

The price for this golden creation will make just about anyone scream in astonishment. We do not know who would ever pay $660,000 to get a car that will alert all of the thieves in the area, but we are pretty sure at least one sucker will, and did.

The Competition

Luckily for us, there is no other car in the world to compete with this one. Sure, more expensive models have received the golden treatment, like the 2010 Mercedes SLS AMG Desert Gold and the Gemballa Mirage GT Gold Edition, but these vehicles are in a much higher class than the Abarth 500C, no matter how much gold or how many diamonds get put on the little car.

Unfortunately, this probably isn't the last we'll hear of anyone giving their car this type of treatment. Poor cars never stood a chance.
