Abarth ->ke2904 unveiled the 595 back in 1960s and since the model written a history full of record broken and victories. Now, 50 years later, the company prepares to celebrate the model's 50th anniversary with the unveiling of the special edition 595 50th Anniversary. The model will be unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show and will be limited to only 299 units.

As no surprise, the new 595 50 Anniversary model is a modern interpretation of the original 595. It features a modern reinterpretation of the original color, the historical Abarth logos and the original "Fiat Abarth 595" graphics. With the new special edition Abarth is also celebrating the brand itself because the next two years represent a decisive step for it.

The new Abarth 5959 50 Anniversary edition will be available for order starting 15 September, exactly 50 years after the presentation of the first 595.

Exterior

The new 595 50th Anniversary will be offered in a specially-developed liver that reinterprets the one used in the original 1963 595. The car is painted in a matte three-layer white paintwork, combined with carefully-designed historical logos and graphics.

The model comes also equipped with Xenon headlights with dipped and driving light functions for improved light emission and excellent performance in all weather conditions.

Interior

For the interior, the new 595 special edition adds red leather sports seats with white inserts and red stitching, a dashboard inspired by the one of the original car, and historical logo adorning both the black leather steering wheel with red inserts and finder and the kick plate.

Engine

Under the hood there is a 1.4 liter T-Jet engine with an output of 180 horsepower, making the 595 50 Anniversay edition the most powerful 595 ever. The engine is mated to a "Abarth Competizione" gearbox and a "Record Monza" variable back-pressure "dual mode" exhaust system that considerable improves the engine's sound and performance.

The car sits on 17-inch alloy wheels in 695 Magnesio Grey design and combined with Brembo 305 mm floating brake discs.

Prices

The new 595 50 Anniversary edition will be available to order from 15 September, exactly 50 years after the presentation of the first 595. Prices will be announced at a later date.

Mini Cooper JCW is powered by a 1.6-liter, turbocharged and direct-injected four-cylinder engine that delivers a total of 208 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. This output makes it a little bit more powerful than the Abarth 595, but the Abrth model has a little bit more style.

Subaru BRZ

A sportier, more powerful alternative is the Subaru BRZ. It is powered by a 2.0-liter Subaru Boxer engine that delivers a total of 200 horsepower, making it again, more powerful than the 595. But the BRZ is the perfect choice for those looking for a sports car, not a classic model.
