2009 Acura RDX
Acura released details about the 2009 RDX turbocharged crossover vehicle. For 2009, the RDX now comes standard with a 4-way adjustable power-activated passenger front seat along with four new exterior colors: Basque Red Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Grigio Metallic and Palladium Metallic. In addition, AcuraLink Real-time traffic system includes coverage for yet another major metropolitan area—bringing the total to 77 areas.   The RDX is powered by a turbocharged 2.3-liter DOHC 16-valve in-line four-cylinder engine that delivers 240 horsepower at 6000 rpm with 260 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm. The RDX has an EPA fuel economy rating of 17/22 mpg (city/highway). The engine is mated by a 5-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift.  For 2009, a 4-way adjustable power front seat is standard for the front passenger. The 3-passenger rear seat has a 60/40 split-folding capability and, when folded flat, significantly expands the load area and increases the total cargo volume to 60.6 cubic feet. 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spider GT - most toxic new car smell
“That new car smell” has been long been an underlying selling point of cars. It helps describe the joy of being the first to wear in a car. But now it may also be the way you describe how you got your latest health concern. Last week, the Ecology Center released its 2nd annual consumer guide to toxic chemicals in cars and children’s car seats (www.HealthyCar.org). Of the cars tested, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spider GT scored the worst (highest contaminants), and the Acura RDX scored the best (lowest). Chemicals of primary concern include: bromine (associated with brominated flame retardants); chlorine (indicating the presence of polyvinyl chloride, or PVC and phthalates); lead; and heavy metals. Such chemicals have been linked to a wide range of health problems such as allergies, birth defects, impaired learning, liver toxicity, and cancer. Acura announced that the 2009 RDX will be available in two versions: the generously appointed RDX and the fully-featured RDX with Technology Package. MSRP pricing for the RDX is $33,695 and the RDX with Technology Package is $36,995. Pricing for the 2009 model represents a modest 1.08 percent sales weighted average price increase. Destination and Handling fee is $760 and is not included in MSRP.  For 2009, the RDX now comes standard with a 4-way adjustable power-activated passenger front seat along with four new exterior colors: Basque Red Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Grigio Metallic and Palladium Metallic.
