The replacement for the Acura RL->ke310 was unveiled at the 2012 New York International Auto Show, and it went on sale in early 2013. Now, after just a few months, Acura->ke10 is already at the 2013 SEMA Show->ke216 with a special-edition RLX VIP developed in cooperation with Evasive Motorsports.

The update started under the hood where Evasive installed a new exhaust system that includes four titanium exhaust tips. The RLX also received a new Prototype Tein Street Flex coil-over suspension system that brings the RLX body closer to the ground. A new set of wheels combined with a high-performance brake system round out the performance upgrades offered for the sedan.

The exterior received an update by way of an aggressive body kit, and the interior gets custom neck pillows wrapped in Jordan Brand-inspired elephant print.

Profile Details

The new RLX VIP carries an aggressive body kit that includes a new chin spoiler, front bumper vents and side skirts all made in carbon fiber. There is also a new deck-lid spoiler and a splash guard set from Acura Genuine Accessories. The model also gets a Nano-Fusion paint protection film and S&A Design vinyl stickers.

Handling and Braking Details

For the RLXVIP, Acura prepared a set of 21-inch AVS Model F15 wheels covered in Continental ExtremeContact DW tires sizes 245/35ZR21. Helping the RLX handle better is a new brake kit with four-piston calipers and a set of Project Mu NS400 brake pads, and Prototype Tein Street Flex coil-overs.
