  The Alfa Romeo 8C competizione was launched in 2008 as the forerunner of the Italian automaker’s return to the U.S. market. The limited edition Alfa Romeo sports car features a carbon fiber monocoque, 4.7 Liter Ferrari V8 sitting between the front wheels and curves shaped to move air around the vehicle. That power plant is good for a total of 444 HP and 350 lb-ft of torque that can accelerate the car 8C competizione from 0 to 60 MPH in just 4.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 181 MPH make it one of the most desirable Italian sports cars of the modern era.

Alfa Romeo 8C Spider to debut in 2009


Alfa Romeo has announced that they will build a convertible version of the limited-edition 8C Competizione in 2009. The announcement has made today by Fiat group CEO Sergio Marchionne in a presentation to financial investors in New York City today.

US Alfa Romeo 8C to be unveiled this week-end


Maserati North America President James Selwa has announced that the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione will be unveiled in USA this week-end at the Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance in suburban Detroit. The event marks the return of Alfa Romeo on the US market. Alfa Romeo 8C will be priced at $200,000 or above and will be sold in limited units.

US Alfa Romeo 8C to be limited to 99 units


Alfa Romeo has confirmed today the European prices for the 8C Competizione: 159,300 euros or $219,284. Also the company announced that from the 500 units, only 99 will be available for the US market.

Alfa Romeo 8C Spider coming in 2008


If you remember, when Alfa Romeo announced the 8C Competizione they said the car will come in two versions: 250 coupes and 250 spiders. But when the company realized this will cost around 13 million dollars, they dropped the plans for the spider version.

Alfa 8C Competizione sold out in Japan


Alfa 8C Competizione was officially launched in Japan today. From the 500 units that will be produced, only 70 will come to Japan, priced at ¥22 million (or $186, 810). And in the same day that the car was launched, it was also sold out. Japan allways has been a strong market for top-end exotica, and also boasts many knowledgeable, super enthusiastic Alfisti.
