  The Alfa Romeo Spider is a stylish compact sports car from the Italian automaker that began life as an Italdesign Giugiaro concept in 2002 and became a Pininfarina penned production car in 2006. The Alfa Romeo Spider is based on the Alfa Romeo Brera and is available with four, five and six cylinder engine configurations as well as Alfa Romeo’s Q4 all wheel drive. The Brera is also offered as a diesel. The top of the line V6 powered Brera makes 255 HP and 237 lb-ft of torque and can go from 0 to 60 MPH in 7.0 seconds.

The powerful 200 bhp 2.4 JTDM 20v engine is now available on the Alfa Spider family, combined with a sporty 6-speed gearbox. The new version will be on the market in Italy and Germany in mid February, followed shortly thereafter by the other markets.

The advertising slogan ‘Spider is Alfa Roma’ used nearly 30 years ago sums up the eighty years of production of Alfa Romeo’s Spider convertible. An automotive manufacturer with a name always connected to motor-sport such as Alfa Romeo can only represent their freedom and passion driven values by building a convertible. We welcome the car that gets to be “the most Alfa Romeo”, the new Spider.

The Alfa Romeo GTV and Alfa Romeo Spider are two automobiles produced by the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo since 1995. The GTV is a four-seater coupe, with the Spider being essentially a convertible GTV, with only two seats.
