If you needed more proof of what an amazing car the new Alfa Romeo 4C is, you will get it this weekend when the car serves as the Safety Car at the Silverstone round of the FIM World Superbike Championship.
This will be the second time that British customers have the chance to see the 240-horsepower sports car in action, after its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed .
While we usually saw the base version in either red or white exterior paint, the new Safety Car features a white exterior paint combined with the red, white and green colors of the Italian flag that will run the length of the body.

The 4C was previewed by a concept version back in 2011 and the production version finally arrived at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
The 4C is powered by a new four-cylinder 1,750 cc turbocharged engine that delivers a total of 240 horsepower and comes mated to an innovative an innovative Alfa TCT automatic twin-dry-clutch transmission.
This amount of power is enough to sprint the sports car from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds and to a top speed of more than 155 mph.
Alfa 4C is expected to hit the U.S. market early in 2014.

The Alfa Romeo 4C will make a second UK appearance as Official Safety Car to the Silverstone round of the FIM World Superbike Championship this weekend (Sunday, 4 August).
The second UK round of the FIM World Superbike Championship visits the Northamptonshire circuit at the weekend, when top sponsor Alfa Romeo will bring a special liveried Alfa 4C as Official Safety Car to the round.
Following its dynamic UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Alfa 4C will make this second UK outing of the summer liveried in the red, white and green colours of the Italian flag.
For UK fans of Alfa’s eagerly anticipated new model, this will be another rare opportunity to see the stunning 240hp compact sports coupé in action.
