Alfa Romeo is ready for a US launch. But it needs a little help from BMW. Until they’ll have a dealership of their own, "Mini U.S. dealers would have the possibility to also sell Alfa Romeo cars," a Fiat spokesman said.
Fiat and BMW announced today that they have signed an agreement for possible co-operation on components and architectures for their Mini and Alfa Romeo vehicles.
Alfa Romeo plans to return to the United States in 2010. The first U.S. model is expected to be an entry-level premium five-door hatchback, code-named project 940.
The new car will debut in Europe late next year, replacing the Alfa 147.

At the end of June we first reported about a GTA version for the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. Today AutoCar brings more diesel about the future version that will be launched in 2010, the year when the Italian company celebrates its centenary.
The 8C GTA will be limited to only 100 units. It will have a weight of almost 1450kg - that’s 150kg lighter than a standard 8C. The engine from the standard version will be boosted to 500 hp.

Alfa Romeo will launch a successor for the 8C Competizione in 2010, just in time to celebrate the company’s centenary. According to AutoCar the car could be based on the Ferrari California.
"It would be great if Ferrari let us do it," Alfa Romeo’s global marketing director Sergio Cravero said, "but they are very hard to convince." The 8C project will have broken even, financially speaking, by the time the 500 Spiders currently under construction have been delivered.
The future 8C will be a front-engined, rear-wheel-drive model built in limited numbers.

Alfa Romeo’s line-up is suffering big changes in order to bring thr italian car in European’s customers attention. After the newly-launched MiTo, Alfa Romeo is working on the next generation 149.
The future model will be a semi-successor for the curent 147, and that’s because the Italian company will build two different models for the three and five-door versions. MiTo will be the replacement for the three-doors version of the 147, while the 149 will be successor for the 147 five-doors version.
But the future 149 will not be built on the same platform as the current Fiat Punto, as previously reported.
Alfa Romeo will offer an all-new platform, with FWD traction, but an AWD version being possible for the top version.
149 will offer between 120 and 265 hp, the top version being powered by a 3,2 liters V6 engine.
