The 2013 C63 AMG Black Series Coupe is no doubt our favorite of the entire C-Class lineup. We find it just perfect from the factory and we most updates just ruin its factory beauty. However, the folks over ADV.1 Wheels have found a solution to improve its look even further, proving us wrong.

The tuner installed a set of wheels painted in no ordinary silver or gunmetal. Instead, it opted for a brushed-aluminum finish that uses a special red transparent tint that completely makes the car scream: "look at me!" The new wheels are sized 20-by-10 inches up front and 20-by-11 inches on the rear and come in a monoblock design.

And, since no package can be completed until some body updates are also offered, ADV.1 teamed with Mode Carbon and fiveninedesign. This partnership added to the car a new boot-lid spoiler and new side mirrors.

This caps off this minimalist upgrade that offers up just enough custom work to make the C63 AMG Black series look even better.

The 2013 Mercedes CLS 63 AMG is a model that really doesn’t need any upgrades, but American tuner, Renntech, decided it would boost the luxury sedan’s image regardless. While these upgrades make the CLS 63 AMG looking better than ever it has one big disadvantage: its relatively high $9,500 price tag.

The entire kit was designed and prototyped in-house and is constructed of the highest-quality pre-preg carbon fiber that ensures years durability. If you were expecting something big, you will be disappointed, as Renntech kept the updates to a minimum by only offering a front splitter, rear diffuser and rear lip spoiler.

Usually, Renntech offers up some form of an engine update to go along with the updated aesthetics, but this time it decided to skip them. After all, the CLS 63 AMG ’s 5.5-liter biturbo V-8 engine that delivers a total of 518 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, or 550 horsepower and 590 pound-feet when you add the AMG Performance Package, is plenty powerful.

The market’s current trend is to develop more and more hybrid models. Apparently Mercedes is going to follow this trend, but its current V-12 engines will still be offered for at least five or six years.

According to Mercedes-AMG Chairman Ola Källenius, AMG is going to unveil hybrid models, but not until the market is really ready for it. Until then it will work on improving fuel consumption by at least 20 percent by the company’s 50th anniversary in 2017. AMG is still unsure about the hybrid powertrain because the battery needed to provide power to the electric motor is very heavy and will add unnecessary mass to the car’s total weight.

As a result, until AMG will be ready to offer a proper hybrid model, it will work on getting more power from the current gasoline engines and has no intention of offering a powerful diesel engine anytime soon.

On the other hand, Källenius confirmed that the current V-12 engine is EU6 (emissions compliance) and is offered with start-stop technology, so it’s absolutely safe for years to come.

Mercedes GLA45 AMG

This is the second time that Mercedes has taken its baby performance SUV out for a testing session. Instead of hitting the cold weather with the GLA 45 AMG , like the first time we caught it, Mercedes took it for an extreme test at Nürburgring in Germany.

The next GLA 45 AMG will be based on the same platform as the new-generation A-Class and will be offered with the same engine as the CLA 45 AMG and A 45 AMG : a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers a total of 360 horsepower and a peak torque of 331 pound-feet.

Unlike the standard GLA-Class , the AMG version will feature a more aggressive look with dual exhaust pipes, bigger wheels and cross-drilled brakes – pretty standard stuff for the AMG lineup.

The standard GLA-Class is expected to be unveiled in September at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, with the AMG version to follow few months after.

German aftermarket company, Vath, is no stranger to building some of the most desirable Mercedes programs in the market. The company has a portfolio of these models, including programs for the A-Class , the C63 AMG and the SLS AMG , among others.

Not one to be content with just fitting useless components on the SL63 AMG , Vath opted to use parts that would improve the sports car’s aerodynamic capabilities, beginning with a carbon front spoiler, a new rear diffuser with fins and a large underbody, and a rear lip that was also made from high-class carbon. Rounding out the exterior mods is a set of 20-inch, three-part forged rims with titanium-colored spokes to go with a high-performance brake system that features a 390 mm (15.35-inch) brake discs at the front axle with six-piston brake calipers, as well as Castrol SRF racing brake fluid and brake line kit.

The interior of the SL63 AMG was treated to a fancy carbon-black finish, all of which was exclusively handmade in Germany. Among the components finished in carbon black include the middle console, the front ashtray cover and two-part door stripes. From there, Vath gave the SL63 AMG’s sport steering wheel a leather treatment, while also replacing the speedometer with one that goes all the way up to 224 mph and adding aluminum pedals.

Under the hood of the SL63 AMG, Vath worked with a reprogrammed 5.5-liter V-8 Biturbo engine that shot the output of the sports car up to 780 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, a staggering increase from the standard model’s 537-horsepower and 590 pound-feet figures.

The Mercedes CLA has been officially unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, and, as the spy shots revealed, the next logical step was a more powerful, AMG version. The model made its debut today at the 2013 New York Auto Show and will be put on sale in September.

When compared to the standard CLA-Class, the new AMG version will add a more aggressive design language, with elements we have already seen on models like the CLS 63 AMG. These specific elements include an AMG "twin blade" radiator grille, an AMG front apron, large cooling air intakes and for the rear an AMG apron and of course the two chrome-plated twin tailpipes of the AMG sports exhaust system.

Even if a tiny sedan, the new CLA 45 AMG is offering technologies used in the SLS AMG sports car, like the cooling system for the four-cylinder engine.

Back in 2011 Senner Tuning announced an upgrade package for the Mercedes SLS AMG Coupe version. Today, the same package has been extended to the roadster version . Just like with the coupe , the roadster version receives an extra 35 horsepower under the hood and new wheels, combined with an upgraded suspension system.

Senner Tuning added a new exhaust system made in high-grade steel and a new set of high-performance air filters to help boost its output beyond the standard 571 horsepower and 650 Nm (479 pound-feet) of torque. The end result is an SLS Roadster that delivers a total of 606 horsepower and a peak torque of 508 pound-feet. AS standard, the SLS AMG hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 197 mph. This package likely drops its acceleration time down to around 3.7 seconds and it may allow the SLS AMG to tickle the 200-mph mark.

Senner also installed new wheels, sized 9-by-20 inches with 255/30R20 tires up front and 11.5-by-21 inches with 295/25R21 Hankook S1 Evo-tires for the rear. The wheels are painted in titanium gray and are combined with a special coil-over suspension system made by KW Automotive.

When you think of the term “Stealth,” the last thing that comes to mind is a bright-orange CLS63 AMG with nearly 800 horsepower screaming down city streets. Well, apparently the folks over at German Special Customs couldn’t care less what you think about the term, as they rocked the CLS to supercar status and called it just that: Stealth.

On the outside, you get the already sexy coupè look wrapped up in a super-bright shade of orange that is ripped straight from the Aventador’s color palette. Up front, GSC adds in an aggressive front bumper with integrated LED daytime running lights, a mean-looking hood with monstrous heat-extracting vents and all-new fenders that cap off the vicious front end.

Around the backside, you get an all-new rear bumper cover that boasts a carbon-fiber diffusor to help pull the back end down at high speeds. A high-grade-steel four-pipe exhaust system is one with the diffusor, giving the CLS 63 a clean finish and a rather mean exhaust note.

Also added into the mix is a set of wheels size 20-by-9 inches up front and 20-by-10.5 inches on the back wrapped up in super-sticky Michelin tires sized 255/30R20 and 305/25R20, respectively. This sticky rubber is combined with a KW coil-over suspension system and adjustable dampers to make this massive performance coupè even more competent in the twist.

Inside, you also get a tasty treat, as GSC fits the CLS63 AMG with orange Lambo leather and a slew of carbon-fiber components.

What makes the Stealth so bad-ass is what’s under the hood. The 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine was already powerful from the factory – 518 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque – but GSC did it one better. The tuner pumped this V-8’s output up to 750 horsepower and 1,150 Nm (848 pound-feet) of torque. This drops its 0-to-100 km/h (62 mph) time down to just 3.7 seconds and bumps its top speed up to 350 km/h (217 mph). That’s a good 0.7 seconds faster to 100 km/h than the stock CLS63 AMG.

Unfortunately, GSC didn’t offer up a price on this beastly kit, but you can contact them at info@germanspecialcustoms.com for pricing details. We’re sure it is somewhere near the €50,000 ($65,000) mark.

Mercedes GLK-Class

The Mercedes GLK-Class was unveiled back in 2008 and Mercedes is already planning the next generation for 2015. The model will be based on the next C-Class platform and rumors have been swirling about an AMG model for the first time. However, in a recent interview, AMG director of vehicle development, Tobias Moers, dismissed those rumors, suggesting that such a model does not fit on the market right now.

Apparently, transforming the GLK into a real AMG model will cost a lot and such an investment makes no sense on the current market. Keep in mind, though, that things could change once Porsche drops the new Macan on the market.

When asked about the new Audi Q3 RS, Moers said that Audi did not apply the right strategy and that the model does not deliver the right amount of power for an RS model. Translated, he does not think the RS Q3 would be a real threat for and SMG variant of the GLK-Class.
