The Audi A4 is an entry level luxury sedan from the German automaker that is currently in its fourth generation. Introduced in 1994 with a four door saloon as well as a five door Avant model with the wagon only 2000 RS4 sitting at the top of the heap with a Biturbo 2.7 Liter V6 that made 375 HP and 325 lb-ft of torque. The A4 was redesigned with a few new bloated body lines in 2001, this allowed the way for a 4.2 Liter V8 making 339 HP and 302 lb-ft of torque to go under the S4’s hood while the car would accele3rate from 0 to 60 MPH in under 5 seconds. In 2005 the A4 was redesigned once again with more aggressive curves and the S4 was powered by the same V8 as before except that a new RS4 with FSI technology making 420 HP. The A4’s current shape came in 2008 with a refreshing of the entire line. In order to accommodate fuel economy issues, the high output S4 will be powered by a smaller supercharged V6.
Audi’s Allroad has always been based on the A6 Avant (wagon). But now spy photographers caught a new model testing at the Nurburgring: the A4 Allroad sedan. It’s been suggested that this is just a testing mule for the next generation of the wagon-based Allroad. After all, Subaru only has limited success selling a go anywhere four-door with its Outback Sedan (no longer sold in the U.S.)
If it does reach production, the A4 Allroad will be placed between the Q3 and Q5 SUVs. Engines will be shared with the rest of the A4 range, and if Audi offers a version fitted with its new 2.0-liter common-rail TDI motor, then the A4 should be more economical and have less emissions than conventional SUV rivals.
Audi launched new advertising campaign for the 2009 A4. After the commercial that appeared during the Olympics, it seems Audi wants to take the attack even further by being, er, greener? Although it also mentions being bigger and more powerful, this is definitely a sign of changing times as Audi also declares it is more fuel-efficient.

It looks like Audi found the best way to present its new Audi A4, by creating the first application for the iPhone. The new application called "A4 Challenge” is supported by a Audi A4 iPhone experience website and represents a driving game which can be played with the help of the motion sensors found on the iPhone.
The breakdown: the motion sensors are used in order to steer the virtual 2009 A4, which means moving the phone is the steering, while the acceleration and braking are done using the touch screen. Audi of America’s, Scott Keogh said, “The iPhone is an ideal platform to help introduce the entirely new Audi A4 to the public”.

The Audi A4 sedan can be equipped with either the all-new 2.0 TFSI 4-cylinder engine or the 3.2 FSI V6 engine. The 2.0 TFSI engine can be configured for front-wheel drive or with Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system. The 3.2 FSI is offered exclusively in the sedan and with the quattro all-wheel-drive system and a 6-speed Tiptronic transmission. The A4 Avant will be equipped with the 2.0 TFSI engine and the quattro all-wheel-drive system.
New for 2009, the 2.0 TFSI engine features more horsepower (211 hp) and significantly more torque (258 lb.-ft.) than the engine it replaces. Rated at 21 miles per gallon city and 27 mpg highway, the 2.0 TFSI engine delivers better fuel economy, and when compared to the all-wheel-drive versions, better 0-to-60 miles per hour acceleration than the key German and Asian competitors in the segment.

According to the German magazine Automobilwoche, Audi might built A4 sedan and the midsized Q5 SUV here in USA. Audi planners say a volume of 50,000 to 80,000 vehicles is necessary to justify U.S. production. "The example of BMW shows that a local factory helps a company capture the market," said Juergen Pieper, an analyst with Bankhaus Metzler.
Production would take place at Volkswagen’s planned new factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee, that will have capacity to build up to 200,000 units a year. In studying the case for the U.S. plant, Volkswagen had originally considered building the VW Touareg, Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne SUVs there. They are all on the same platform. But Porsche has rejected U.S. production. "There is absolutely no consideration being given to the production of vehicles in the U.S.," a Porsche source said. "There is no supplier base with appropriate capabilities for Porsche."

Additionally, the tuner offers also a light package consisting in a pair of LED day driving lights with five LEDs.
