Audi A5 by JMS
 
Audi A5 is a beautiful car and anyone who tries to improve its looks has to know what he is doing. JMS managed to update the vehicle without changing its character. The tuning company added a new body kit which includes a front lip spoiler, new side skirts, a new rear air diffuser with integrated exhaust system.  The coupe also received a new spring kit from H&R which improves the stability of the car without losing any comfort, but also new set of 20” alloy wheels fitted with 255/30 R20 Dunlop tires. In order to obtain a new sound the German manufacturer changed the exhaust system and added a stainless steel rear muffler with four oval tips which improve also the looks of the vehicle. Audi will unveil the convertible version of the A5 Coupe in October at the Paris Motor Show. The car will come to replace the A4 Convertible, which was built by Karmann. The A5 Cabrio will be built by Audi at its Neckarsulm plant in Germany alongside the coupe. The convertible version will compete with the BMW 3-Series Convertible. Audi will likely employ a lightweight canvas roof for its new convertible that will save both on costs as well as storage space.The cabrio will be powered by the same engines as found in the coupe, which means the latest FSI and TDI engines, with output ranging from 170 to 265hp. There’s also likely to be V8 powered S5 and RS5 performance models as well. The base model will remain FWD but AWD variants will feature latest quattro torque vectoring systems, which distribute drive individually between each axle and between the rear wheels for improved traction and stability. Audi’s new seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox should also feature in the new model.
Audi A5 Convertible to debut in 2009
First rumors said the Convertible version of the Audi A5 will be unveiled this year at the Geneva Motor Show. But the show just ended and no sign of a A5 Convertible. Why? Because the A5 Convertible isn’t expected to debut until January 2009 at the Detroit Auto Show. It will be produced in Neckarsulm, Germany. The A5 Convertible will feature a fabric hoods (not a metal one like the 3-Series). The fully electric top will offer excellent refinement, thanks to its multi-layered construction. Under the bonnet we will see the same engines as in the coupe version:a 3.2-litre V6 petrol, plus 2.7-litre and 3.0-litre TDI diesels. The range will be topped off by the S5 Cabriolet, which will be powered by a 4.2-litre V8 and will feature quattro four-wheel drive.
Audi A5 Sportback to debut in 2009
Mercedes has the CLS, Volkswagen just unveiled the Passat CC, but what about Audi? Is time for them to have a word to say on the luxury four-door coupe market as well! And they will, starting 2009, when the brand will launch the Sportback version of the A5 Coupe. Audi A4 and A5 get new engines
Audi continues to expand its successful A4 and A5 model lines. The new entry-level units add to the range of available engines. The 1.8 TFSI engine is available for the Audi A4, where it generates 88 k (120 hp) in combination with a manual transmission, and for the A5, where it develops 125 kW (170 hp) in combination with the continuously variable multitronic transmission. Audi will unveil the Convertible version of the A5 Coupe next year at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Sales will begin in the summer with pricing starting at about £33,000. The A5 Convertible will compete directly with the 3-Series Convertible. Full story
Audi A5 gets new Turbo FSI Engine
The first four-cylinder engine to power the all-new Audi A5 coupé joins the UK range this week, and fittingly it too is also a completely new design. The advanced, directly injected successor to the familiar 1.8-litre Turbo petrol unit that has powered A3, A4, A6 and TT models in the past creates the A5 1.8 TFSI, which is available to order now for an OTR price of £26,190. Hofele-Design will launch a complete styling kit for the Audi A5 B8 Coupe by the end of the year. Part of this new kit are the front & rear bumper made of the high-quality material PKG with big air intakes. The used lamella mesh reminds of the lines of the new Audi R8 and gives the A5 Coupe a more aggressive look. The front was designed more rounder as on the original A5 Full story
