One of the most flattering compliments that you can give to any tuner is that their vehicle looks so clean; it looks like it came that way from the factory. That is what the guys at PPI Design were after when they designed the MAG11 wheel. They carefully studied theAudi A5 and came up with this beautiful forged aluminum 11 spoke wheel that looks OEM. The construction allows for the 19 inch wheel to weigh in at only 21.7 lbs. (9.85 kg) and able to withstand the forces associated with driving at almost 250 MPH (400 km/h).
The Audi A5 is a full size luxury sport back model that was introduced in 2008 just above the A4 sedan in the German automaker's lineup, aimed at competing head to head with the BMW 3 Series coupe and convertible by replacing the A4 Cabriolet. The A5 comes equipped with everything from a 180 HP 2.0 Liter TFSI motor to a 333 HP supercharged V6. Meanwhile the top of the line S5 features distinct bold bodywork and is powered by a 4.2 Liter FSI V8 making 349 HP and 325 lb-ft of torque. Rumors suggest that Audi is working on a very tantalizing RS5 making over 450 HP.
After revealing the A5 Convertible back in December of last year, Audi came today with new details and a video presenting the car in action. In Europe prices will start from €37,300 (or $46,900 at the direct current rates).
The A5/S5 Cabriolet is being launched with three turbocharged gasoline engines, with power outputs ranging from 211 hp to 354 hp (the top two engines are pulled directly from the A5 and S5.) There will also be two diesel engines that will not make it to the U.S.
Audi is about to unveil a Sportback version of its A5 Coupe (meaning an A5 with four-doors and a bigger trunk/hatchback). So while there’s still time for speculation, here’s a new rendering of the future car set to be on sale in the second half of the year.
Based on the A5 coupe, the Sportback version will feature the same front-end, but there will be a high waistline and low, sloping roof. The international engine lineup should remain unchanged from the standard A5/S5: FSI and TDI engines with rated power ranging from 170 to 354 bhp. Porsche may also lend a hand for a 450 hp RS version of this possible wagon .
Audi revealed a new image gallery of the 2010 A5 Cabriolet . The A5 convertible will go on sale in North America in the fall 2009, as 2010 model.
The three engines available are a 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder making about 200 horsepower (a carryover from the A4 Cabriolet, the first four-cylinder in the A5 line), a 3.2-liter V6 already in use in both the A4 and A5 making 255 horsepower, and a 3.0-liter turbo V6 (a replacement for the 340 hp 4.2-liter V8 engine used in the current S5).
Now that Audi has an official coupe based on the A4 , it is only sensible that that car takes over the convertible duties as well. For 2009, Audi’s smallest drop tops in North America are now know as the A5/S5 Convertible.
The A5/S5 Cabriolet is being launched with three turbocharged gasoline engines, with power outputs ranging from 211 hp to 354 hp. There will also be two diesel engines that will not make it to the U.S. All five powerplants are fueled via direct injection; four of them use turbocharging. All cars will have some version that will feature the six-speed Tiptronic manumatic transmission. The continuously variable multitronic transaxle as well as a regular manual transmission are also available with certain engines and trims.
Expect these cars to show up in Audi showrooms across America by the fall of 2009 as 2010 models. But rememberer to look closely, as the picture below shows there’s not much difference between an A4 and an A5 .

Speak of the devil... Yesterday we took a look at Porsche’s plans to sweeten a future Audi known as the A5 Sportback (an A5 with four-doors and a bigger trunk), and today AutoExpress seems to confirm the car’s existence with this spy shot. If all goes well, this A4-hatchback-in-denial will hit the streets the second half of 2009.

While it is a little easier to understand why a four-door hatchback would want to exploit the slightly sportier name of the A5, statements noting that the A5 Sportback will keep the A5 coupe’s distinctive front-end styling is a little bit of a stretch. It’s kinda tough to tell the difference between the A4 and the A5 in the picture below.
Caractere, the famous Belgian tuner, unveiled today its new body styling equipment for the new Audi A5 and S5 . The new kit consists in a front bumper especially designed for the vehicles with original fog lights, a new front grill and a rear spoiler and integrated rear air diffuser,
with or without exhaust tips on the left and on the right side, a new boot spoiler but also a new set of 19 or 20” alloy wheels having the well-known Caractere design. No words about the price yet!

The October issue of the Car Magazine will feature a very interesting article of the 2010 Audi RS5, a model that will be a serious competitor to the BMW M3.
The RS5 will be powered by the same twin-turbo V10 engine from the RS6 with output around 580 hp.
The engine will be mated to Audi’s latest 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission (a.k.a. DSG). The new RS cars will also benefit from Audi Drive Select (ADS) - controlling suspension, steering weight and ratio, throttle mapping, and shift points on S-tronic models.
