The Audi A6 is a full size executive sedan from the German luxury automaker that was introduced to replace the Audi 100 in 1994 and is currently in its fourth generation. Powered by everything from the tiny 1.8T four cylinder to V8s with Fuel Stratified Injection, the A6 competes head to head with the BMW 5-Series. While an M5 may be in the same league as the S6 powered by a Lamborghini derived 5.2 Liter all aluminum V10 that made 429 HP and 398 lb-ft of torque accelerates from 0 to 60 MPH in 5.2 seconds and runs the quarter mile in only 13.5, but BMW has nothing on the 572 HP Biturbo RS6.

The Franconian tuning specialist RACEDESIGN Automotive is now offering a new aerodynamics body-styling kit for the Audi A6 type B4.

The renowned Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the USA has awarded both the Audi A4 and A6 models its highest rating of “Top Safety Pick”. This makes Audi the only German manufacturer with two prize-winning vehicles.

A new ultra-modern V6 power unit with a displacement of 2.8 litres will be available for the Audi A6 and A6 Avant from 20 October 2006. The engine has an output of 154 kW (210 bhp) and achieves 280 Nm of torque, available constantly from 3,000 to 5,000 rpm.
