Audi A7 convertible might be a go for 2011

The German makers have announced new models for the future: BMW has announced a model based on the CS Concept, Mercedes also has announced facelift for many of its models. So it was normal for Audi to start its offensive: an Audi A5 sport wagon and an A7 Coupe are the biggest news from the company. The A7 will be launched in 2009. 2009 Audi A7

Audi is working a new model placed between the Audi A6 and the Audi A8 and will be a direct competitor for the Mercedes Benz CLS Coupe. The Audi A7 will be initially available as a four-door coupe that will go on sale for model year 2009 in Europe and shortly after in North America. This year Audi will launch the B8 A5 and S5 variants at Geneva Motor Show and the B8 A4 at Frankfurt show. In 2008 Audi will launch a mid-sized "coupe" at Geneva Motor Show. The new model, called Audi A7 will go on sale for model year 2009 in Europe and shortly thereafter in calendar 2009 in North America. Audi A7 Independent Design

Those images are designed by Gabriel Rabhi, a French CGI artist, video game and graphical programmer, multimedia programmer and composer. Rabhi originally began his A7 modeling in order to learn complex surface modeling with high curvature control. From start to finish, he completed this entire project in approximately twelve days. In the jungle-like car market of the new millennium only those who adapt and evolve can become top of the tree. Model survival needs brought to life new species, more versatile, more adaptive and more appealing. Such a new species is the sleek four door coupe, which emerged in order to satisfy customer image needs without sacrificing comfort. The first exponent of this evolution was the Mercedes CLS, brought to us by the Stuttgart “instant public image booster”. All alone on the virgin territory the new Mercedes had no trouble replicating itself into a best-seller. The domination days seem to be down counted by the competition, as Jaguar and Volkswagen intend to enter this market segment. Audi is already one step forward, their point of view on the matter was recently caught on tests on the Nürburgring race-track.
