Audi RS4

  The Audi RS4 was originally introduced in 2000 as a European only avant model powered by a biturbo 2.7 Liter V6 with a pair of upgraded turbochargers and flared arches. The power plant produced 375 HP and 325 lb-ft of torque and would rocket from 0 to 60 MPH in only 4.9 seconds on its way to a 155 MPH top speed. In 2005 the A4 was redesigned once again and with it came a 4.2 Liter FSI V8 that made 420 HP with 0 to 60 MPH times falling around 4.0 seconds flat.

I know the title is very confusing, but there are two different rumors about that: one saying that Audi has no plans of adding the RS4 Convertible to the USA line-up (WardsAuto) and another one saying that Audi of America is seriously considering the RS 4 Cabriolet for the American market (Fourtitude). Audi of America, Inc. announced pricing for the highly anticipated 2007 RS 4 sport sedan today at the New York International Auto Show. Upon its launch in June, the RS 4 will have a base price of $66,000, not including a $720 destination and $2,100 gas-guzzler charge. The RS 4 is a high-performance sport sedan with a long list of premium equipment to go along with its exceptional performance. From this summer, Audi will for the first time be offering additional versions of the RS 4. Following the successful market launch of the saloon at the end of last year, the Avant and Cabriolet versions will be appearing at dealers from the summer. This will round off the RS 4 family. This highly emotionally charged, high-performance product from quattro GmbH unites the characteristics of a sports car with supreme everyday qualities. This is as true of the saloon version as it is of the Wagon and the four-seater Convertible.

After a long hiatus, the second generation RS4, now built on Audi’s "B7" A4 platform, became available to European customers in the Summer of 2005, and will arrive in the Spring of 2006 in North America. Price is roughly 66,629 Euro, $78,000 USD or £48,000 GBP.
