In its standard version the Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro delivers a total of 525 HP and 390 lb-ft of torque. Some may say that this type of power found in this type of sportscar needs no adjustments or improvements, but those people are not us. We feel there is always room for more power and, apparently, the guys from Sports Wheels feel the same way. The proof is in the pudding and Sports Wheels' pudding comes in a 600hp flavor.

The tuner is offering two different levels for the engine upgrade. In level one, the engine has been tuned to deliver 565 HP instead of the original 525 HP as well as 560 Nm compared to the previous 530 Nm. The level two includes an ironman muffler in combination with software, specifically adjusted to the ESD. The result is an impressive 600 HP and 580 NM of torque.

The package also includes a set of 20 inch wheels with 235/30-20 Conti Sport Contact tires in the front and 11x20 inch wheels with 305/25-20 tires in the back. The tuner also added a crank angle screw thread of the model 3 HLS4.

SPORT-WHEELS, Galactic Audi R8 Spyder with 600 HP

What a thrilling undertaking it would be to drive the Audi R8 Spyder with 600 HP in even more impressive style! The company Sport-Wheels from the city of Hürth, located south of Cologne is under the creative leadership of Christoph Poensgen. Christoph Poensgen has gladly taken on the task of making this wish come true and turning it into a reality. The result is enough to make those with weak constitutions buckle at the knees.

We have given this naturally well-equipped car suitable wheelwork. We have chosen the legendary OZ Ultraleggera HTL and installed 8.5x20 inch wheels with 235/30-20 Conti Sport Contact in the front and 11x20 inch wheels with 305/25-20 in the back. The price of this amazing wheel/tyre combinaton amounts to 4 400 Euros.

To optimise the connection between the vehicle and the asphalt without limiting the driving comfort, we have added a crank angle screw thread of the model 3 HLS4, which costs 7 349 Euros.

A variable plus in power has been made possible by the team from Sport-Wheels: Level 1 is comprised of a change in motor software, increasing the car’s capacity to 565 HP instead of the original 525 HP as well as 560 Nm compared to the previous 530 Nm. Level 1 can be bought for 1 499 Euros.

In the R8 presented here, Level 2 was realised with the following components: An ironman muffler in combination with software, specifically adjusted to the ESD. You can now rev with a brisk 600 HP, while 580 Nm takes its effect on the crank axle. For Level 2, Sport-Wheels charges 5 869 Euros.

If one drive with this car doesn’t leave you speechless – be it from the driving performance, or just the external appearance of the car – then little else will.
