Audi has unveiled today a new version of the sports car TT-RS. The new S tronic model will go on sale across Europe in October at a price of €58,300 for the coupe version and €61,150 for the roadster version. The seventh gear is configured as a high-geared overdrive which reduces engine speed, thus cutting fuel consumption. The driver can choose between two fully automatic modes and the manual mode in which he changes gear using the shift paddles on the steering wheel or with the selector lever. In addition, a launch control function offers virtually perfect acceleration from a standing start, with maximum turbo power and minimum wheel spin. Equipped with the new S-tronic version the new TT-RS will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds, while top speed remains electronically limited to 155 mph. This version comes equipped with a 340 HP FSI engine that delivers 340 HP between 5,400 and 6,500 rpm and reaches a maximum torque of 450 Nm (331.90 lb-ft) between 1,600 and 5,300 rpm. Press release after the jump. Press release The Audi TT RS, the top-of-the-range TT model, can now also be ordered with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This enables the purist driving machine, which was developed by quattro GmbH, to make quite an impression with lightning-fast gear changes and a level of efficiency that is pioneering in its class. The TT RS Coupé consumes an average of 8.5 liters (27.67 US mpg) of fuel per 100 km and emits just 197 g/km (317.04 g/mile) of CO2. 4 comments: Audi TT-RS S-tronic TT-RS S-tronic really had the looks, well most of the convertible cars nowadays are really a good looking car and this car is one of those car but I’m curious on its speed performance.
As far as the standard TT goes, the 2.0 is usually considered to be a better handling car compared to the 3.2. Remember the TT is FWD and the "Quattro" all wheel drive is not really the true Quattro system but a Haldex system. Simply put, lighter engines make it handle better.
