2011 Audi Urban Spyder Concept

You have to excuse us for doing a little double-take on Audi ’s new Frankfurt-bound Urban Spyder Concept. We actually thought that this was the same concept as the Urban E-Tron Concept that we introduced a few days ago. As it turns out, they’re two completely different models. Who knew, right?

The overall look of the car is completely similar to that of the Urban E-Tron Concept, including stand-out features like the free-standing 21” wheels and the surrounding plates that incorporate those strips of LED lights. However, where the E-Tron has a sliding roof and doors, the Spyder Concept doesn’t have a roof at all and instead features a low, continuous window area with its doors opening upwards diagonally.

As for the interior, well, we don’t see anything different either. Both models carry a 1+1 seating configuration with each of the seats being made from carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) to provide supreme sturdiness in a lightweight set-up.

Finally, the Urban Spyder Concept also runs on two E-Tron electric motors that provides the power for the car and combined with a lithium-ion battery pack that supplies the energy.

That’s about as much as we’ve been told for now. But rest assured, we’ll share more details as soon as they become available.

It’s quite cute and exotic, but I don’t like it. Aside from its poor performance capabilities, it has no plans for production.

They were right, but this Spyder concept is really cute for me than E-tron. It is really futuristic and a unique car. Oh! I really can’t wait to see this on market production; I’m so excited about this!

I have to agree with them, but this Spyder concept is truly so cute for me than E-tron. It is really futuristic and a unique car. Oh! I really can’t wait to see this on market production; I’m so excited about this!

I love this concept! So unique and fabulous on its platform and precise features! However, I’m sure that they really don’t have any plan to put it on the market, which is too sad!

A very futuristic concept indeed on its unique platform and other detailing, but I wonder if what will be the interior of this one will looks like and I must say that I’m so disappointed on its engine.

Very unusual car, totally stunning style and exotic concept. It seems very extreme and technology base car. Even futuristic in all its details, from wheels, exterior, seat and interior. I’m impressed.

It is really unique but not impressive. The design is too futuristic and it seems that if I had a car like this I would rather display it on the garage than to drive it.

It really looks like the E-tron concept of Audi. They have the same attitude and appearance. Well, I notice that it doesn’t have a roof while E-Tron had. I think that is their only difference because they also have the same engine.

Oh yeah, Audi Urban Spyder is kind of different from the standard production of the Audi. Anyways, I still doubt on the reliability of electric car and I guess Audi is aware on that thing.. I was thinking on what would be the edge of this car to other electric vehicle.

Well, the sketch looks quite good. However, I still don’t know if this will be reliable or not. And I think it would take a long time before they will a production for this car.
