2012 Audi R8 V10 "Phantom Black Panther" by OK-Chiptuning

It’s got a name that’s more fitting for a superhero, but OK-Chiptuning’s new Phantom Black Panther program for the Audi R8 V10 is every bit as super as its name suggests.

Packed with enhanced visual characteristics to go with an impressive performance boost, the Phantom Black Panther certainly lives up to its name. First of all, OK-Chiptuning fitted the German super car with new aerodynamic components, all wrapped in a phantom black metallic finish. A new carbon-front lip was installed, as was that new diffuser nestled so comfortably on the back. The R8 V10’s taillights were also modified to resemble those from the R8 GT . Don’t forget the grille, too, because OK-Chiptuning decided to give it the same phantom black metallic finish that you can see throughout the supercar.

Under its hood, the R8 V10 was treated to the kind of performance upgrade that the it will definitely be proud of. Through some careful and deliberate software optimization, and the installation of support flaps on the exhaust system, OK-Chiptuning was able to increase the output of the R8 V10 to a tidy 620 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torques, good enough to allow the car to sprint from 62-124 mph in just 6.9 seconds with an presumed top speed of just north of 200 mph.

Audi has since refreshed the R8 V10 with a new version to add on to what its predecessor already had. To its credit, the German automaker was very careful in presenting a new face-lifted model without getting all the hardcore R8 lovers up-in-arms.

For the most part, it succeeded in doing so, giving the R8 V10 a few nips here and minor tucks there. More importantly, the German supercar still packs quite a wallop, thanks to its 5.2-liter V-10 engine that produces 525 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque with a 0-60 mph time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 195 mph.
