The Audi A7 is a car with a very short history in the automotive industry. Previewed by the Sportback Concept at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, the production version of the A7 Sportback is already on sale, albeit not on all markets. This vehicle may be great in its own right, but it will be mediocre in comparison to the RS7 version undoubtedly in the works. Audi hasn’t exactly offered any details on this future model, but following the tradition of every other model in the line-up, we know for a fact that we will see an RS7. And while the Audi A7 targeted models like the Mercedes CLS and the BMW Gran Coupe, the RS7 will focus on models like the Aston Martin Rapide while serving as a much cheaper alternative. The Audi RS7 is expected to be revealed sometime in 2011, with sales to begin in early 2012. Hit the jump to read more about the future Audi RS7. Exterior and InteriorThe exterior design will likely continue in the RS tradition of bigger is better. Expect to see an RS4 chin, RS5 grille, rotor 5-spoke RS style wheels, and chrome mirrors. And, of course, Audi’s usual Sprint Blue exterior color for the RS models will also be offered. The interior will combine both luxury and sportiness: expect sports seats, high quality leather, and different aluminum inserts. Engine Line-upThe Audi RS7 will come packing a new 4.0T FSI twin turbo V8 engine much like the one found on the Audi RS5. That engine comes packing 450hp and 317lb-ft of torque and is able to get from 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds. We expect similar results out of the RS7. There are also rumors suggesting that Audi will beef up the RS7 with a 580bhp version of Audi’s naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine in combination with the firm’s new seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The CompetitionThe future Audi RS7’s main target will be the recently launched Mercedes CLS63 AMG. The CLS63 AMG is powered by a 5.5-liter biturbo V8 engine that will deliver a total of 518 HP and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. If Audi pushes through with their 5.2L V10 then the Audi may just fly past the Mercedes, leaving it to eat some dust, but weight and aerodynamic structure will play a part in just how much faster the Audi can go compared to the Mercedes. Slap on Mercedes’ Performance package for the CLS63 AMG and now you’re talking 550hp-590hp. Now that makes things a bit more interesting. Models like the Porsche Panamera or Aston Martin Rapide will also be a target, but the RS7 will be much cheaper compared to any of them. The RS7 will try to offer the same amount of luxury and even go as far as a more impressive design for a better price, but sometimes a brand name is more sought after than the features the cars provide, so Audi may lose out on some of the market in that respect. When Can I Buy One?The Audi RS7 is expected to hit a major 2011 auto show with sales beginning in 2012. 20 comments: Audi RS7 Sportback I just noticed that the wheels of this one, is looking so cool and only adds more appeal to it. Well, I’m quite curious on its interior feature, I hope they also include some pictures of it.
I must say that it is already looking stunning with its color, and I’m simply impressed with its aesthetic design, and every angle of this vehicle is absolutely looks awesome.
This RS7 sportback really looks so awesome with its body paint and aesthetic design. Moreover, it was a good thing that they use an impressive engine on it, but I still find that its competitor is more powerful than on it.
I wonder if what is the other great features that this sport back can offer? Well, I hope that it had some surprising add ons. Anyway, I have to agree that it is truly looking great on its appearance.
This Audi RS7 is truly very satisfying with its aggressive and classy exterior appearance! Furthermore, I’m glad that they already reinforce their engine and I’m so impressed with the power output of this sport back!
If I’m going to choose between this Audi RS7 and Mercedes CLS63, I think I would settle with the features of this Audi RS7 than to its competitor, and I love the fact that it had a more powerful engine either.
It is maybe looks so great and striking on its exterior detailing, but sorry to say, I think it didn’t offer any special feature or something new that could be a reason, to feel so excited on it.
This design is very typical of an Audi car, but I am still so impressed with it. As for this Sportback, I can say that it looks really great on its sleek body paint, and it looks so classy either on that.
