The exterior and the interior
The new A6 Allroad Quattro measures 16.21 ft long, 6.23 ft wide and 4.82 ft) tall - or about a few inches longer than the A6 Avant. The car has been built using a Audi’s ultra lightweight construction principle familiar from the sedan that makes the car about 154 lbs lighter than the previous model.
The model will be distinguished by the other A6 models by progressive LED technology as an option for the headlights and tail lights, trim strips on the side sills, more widely flared fenders and a single-frame grille with vertical slats. The rear of the car is protected by stainless steel covers and will be distinguished by an exhaust system with two large, flattened tailpipes. The roof rails are mounted on double bars and the wheel well edges, the bumpers and the sills are painted in a contrasting color. The A6 Allroad will be offered in an exclusive Java Braun exterior paint.
And while the exterior has been built to challenge any kind of road out there, the interior combines luxury with elegance. It is painted in Santos Brown combined with optional aluminum inlays and as standard equipment Audi is offering the MMI operating system.
Under the hood Audi has placed a choice of four engines: one TFSI gasoline engine and three TDI units. The gasoline engine, a 3.0 TFSI delivers a total of 310 HP and 324.53 lb-ft of torque. It accelerates the A6 allroad quattro from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds and up to a top speed of 155 mph. All this while delivering a fuel economy of 26.43 US mpg.
The 3.0 TDI engine is offered in three versions: a 204 HP, a 245 HP and a 313 hp. The top version will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 5,6 seconds and up to a top speed of 155.34 mph.
The three engines will be combined with a seven-speed S tronic sporty dual-clutch transmission and a quattro permanent four-wheel drive system paired with torque vectoring.
The model will be offered with radar-based adaptive cruise control with stop & go function that keeps the new A6 allroad quattro at the proper distance from the car ahead.
The new Audi A6 Allroad Quattro will go on sale in the Spring at a starting price of €54,600 or about $70,000 at the current exchange rates.
