Audi will be bringing the new generation A3 hatchback to the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March, leading the way to the unveiling of the S3 and RS3 versions shortly thereafter. The RS3 will be the last to arrive, but will undoubtedly be the most impressive.
The new RS3, like the entire A3 family, will be built on a new MQB platform that will make the car about 10% lighter when compared to its predecessor. Audi will also adopt an updated exterior language as seen in the A3 Concept unveiled last year at the Geneva Motor Show. There will also be an improved interior and an upgraded infotainment system.
Under the hood, the next RS3 will retain its usual turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine, but its output will be increased from the current 340 HP to 350 HP. Audi will also be working to improve fuel economy.
More details about the next RS3 will follow shortly, so stay tuned! Until then, check out our rendering and let us know what you think!

The prototype caught testing by our spy photographers are simple S3 mule, meaning that the new RS3 is still in early development stages. Even so, we pretty much know what to expect when the new model will arrive on the market in 2014.
It will be a little bit more aggressive than the S3, with a different grille, revised front and rear bumpers, larger air intakes that will ensure a proper engine cooling and for the rear a new exhaust system with dual end pipes.
The model will sit on special RS wheels, combined with large brakes featuring six-piston calipers and cross-drilled discs.
The new Audi A3 was unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in three-doors version and a few months later in five-doors configuration. The new A3 is lighter than the previous generation - with about 176 pounds, but in the same longer so it offers increased interior space.
Under the hood the new A3 offers a selection of three engines: one TDI and two TFSI engines. The base 1.4 TFSI delivers a total of 122 horsepower, next there is a 1.8 TFSI engine with an output of 180 horsepower and one 2.0 TDI with 150 horsepower. Depending on the engine, the A3 will be offered with either seven-speed S tronic or six-speed manual transmission.
