The S3->ke1303 sedan is arguably the most under-appreciated sports sedan->ke142 in the Audi->ke14 lineup. Granted, it’s the smallest of its kind there so some people will overlook it. But do so at your own peril. The S3 is a mean sedan that’ll surprise you the first chance it gets, more so now that Audi’s preparing to release the S3 Limited Edition. Unfortunately, Audi gets no points for naming creativity, although I don’t think it cares a lot about that. What it does care about is personalizing the model to make it stand out and it did just that with this set of limited S3s.

The German automaker will build only 350 examples of the S3 Limited Edition->ke3060 so it does live up to its name. Buyers lucky enough to score one of the 350 models will receive a specially prepared model that features a bevy of cosmetic and performance upgrades on the exterior and interior, making the model worth its name.

Audi hasn’t divulged details on when the car will be sold or how much it’s going to go for, but I’ll venture a guess that it’ll hit U.S. dealerships sooner than later with an estimated price tag well north of the $41,100 base price.

The Audi S3 is powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine that produces 296 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, and mates to an S-tronic transmission. The S3 is capable of hitting 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

Audi S3 Limited Edition in detail

The S3 Limited Edition’s cabin received a special, two-tone Black and Magma Red color scheme. I know that sounds a little too simple for a car billed as a "limited edition," but the combination of the black leather and the contrast Magma Red stitching matches really well with gray body of the sports sedan. I would've liked to see more leather, especially on the dashboard, but I'll take what I can get.

There are no shortages of upgrades on the S3 Limited Edition’s exterior. The most noticeable is the special Daytona Gray Pearl paint that adds some polish to the sports sedan. Audi also installed a set of LED headlights and a set of 19-inch, S3-specific wheels wrapped in 235/35 summer tires. The automaker then finished off the exterior upgrades with red brake calipers and a segment-exclusive Audi magnetic ride.

2015 Audi S3

The all-new Audi S3 Sedan made its debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show, and immediately set its sights on the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class.

Audi’s new sports sedan is a real humdinger. Its looks are up to the standards of Audi’s current design philosophy. The pronounced shoulder, in particular, creates an aggressive look that emphasizes its performance credentials.

Speaking of performance, the S3’s 2.0-liter TFSI has enough juice to produce 296 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. The 0-to-60-mph sprint happens in 4.9 seconds and the top speed is limited to 155 mph.

Pricing for the S3 begins at $41,100 for the Premium trim. The more expensive Premium Plus and Prestige trim models have no prices yet, but expect Audi to release those numbers soon.
