The Bentley Continental GT is a high end two plus two grand touring luxury coupe that was released in 2003. Powered by a 6.0 Liter W12 engine, this model is available in multiple version producing 552hp, 600hp, and 621hp. Torque comes in at 479lb-ft, 553lb-ft, and 590lb-ft. All of this power is sent to all four wheels leading the Continental GT to an acceleration from 0 to 60 MPH in 4.6 seconds and 3.7 seconds, depending on the model. Top speed goes from 197mph to 201 mph.
The aftermarket tuners Arden are currently working on an upgrade package for the Bentley Continental GTC. Included will be a flying B for the hood, 21 inch wheels and a new set of LEDs. The engine also gets an additional 60 HP bump. Pricing starts at €980.
Bentley is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. It thinks that the economies of the world will have recovered enough by next year that its customer base will be back to buy. So now Bentley is moving up the schedule for the new Continental GT (possibly previewed in the Supersports) to give customers something to look at when they are back in the money.
"We know that coming out of the dip is when new models will pay off," Stuart McCullough, Bentley’s board member for sales and marketing told Automotive News. "We have done enough work with our customers to understand what they are thinking and when they are likely to be back in the market."
Just like Jaguar’s development plans, Bentley is realizing the best way to win in the long term is to have fresh products when bank accounts are on the upswing. That means making the tough decision to spend on development when pockets are still empty. Good for you Bentley.
German tuners Hamann have added a new sense of style to the super luxury car the Bentley Continental GT, creating the Imperator. The body kit includes a more aggressive front bumper, side skirts, rear trunk spoiler and a redesigned rear bumper. However one of the nicest additions is the lightweight 22 inch rims.
Just because a Bentley Continental GT costs as much as a small yacht doesn’t mean it can float.
This incident happened when a body shop in North London needed to move the car for service. Unlike many of the other stories where shop workers go for joy rides, this one is much more innocent. It seems the brakes failed, causing the Bentley to end up in the Lee River (or at least that’s what they’re telling the insurance company.) The driver was able to escape unhurt, but its unlikely the shop is going to be able to fix the car now.
Premier4509 is a Japanese based subsidiary of the world renowned tuners Veilside. They have most recently launched a limited edition of 300 aero packages that update the aging exterior of the Bentley Continental giving the car a much more aggressive stance. With each kit the owner will receive a uniquely numbered serial plate and a framed certificate of authenticity.
Mansory is continuing to the upper echelon of automobiles. This time they are turning wrenches on the BentleyContinental GT Speed. The W12 has been modified with a sports air filter and electronic programming to produce 685 HP, up from 610 HP, and a top speed of 215 MPH. Getting the power to the ground are a set of Mansory 21 inch forged wheels that compliment the Mansory aero kit perfectly.
Edo Competition’s latest example is the Speed GT, aimed at being the fastest GT on the planet. The vehicle is based on a BentleyContinental GT this model adds to excess raising power from 560 HP to 650 HP and top speed from 202 MPH to 211 MPH. After all what is better than adding a little matte finish to a $200,000 luxury automobile?
Yes, that is Paris Hilton, and no, this is not the E! Channel. It seems Hilton wanted to but herself a Christmas gift, so she bought a $175,000 Bentley Continental GT and then added $25,000 worth of custom bits to it. This offense to good taste was assembled by West Coast Customs, who seem to still be catering to the more-money-than-brains crowd after losing the "Pimp My Ride" gig.
Someone needs to regulate the amount of pink paint that is available out there. We’ve seen other good cars gone soft, like a Pink Pagani Zondaand a Pink Bugatti Veyron. Then again, if someone this attention hungry wants to buy a sedate British coupe, this may be a good thing. Sort of like a big pink warning sign to others.
Nature keeps itself in balance. There’s a reason elephants aren’t fast and chetahs aren’t big. But man can sometimes do something completely unnatural and make something great. For example the Bentley Continental GT Speed and Flying Spur Speed are large luxury vehicles that can top 200 mph.
Then again Renntech’s president Hartmut Feyhl is a man, too. His company decided that Bentley did not go far enough with the Continental pair. He’s changed the ECU software to increase horsepower from 602 to an even 640. The cost? Well you’re a Bentley owner, so the cost doesn’t matter (but if you slip Mr. Feyhl $5,800 his people will probably get to work on your car.)
Just make sure you can handle all the power in this 2300 lbs car. You don’t want to skid off the road and anger Mother Nature.
Bentley owners usually sit on two very opposite sides of the rich people spectrum. They are conservative people who want to keep a low profile but still ride in luxury, or recording artists (or wannabes) who are out to show the whole world how wealthy they can appear. This kit is for the latter.
The Black Bisson Edition of the Continental GT by Wald takes the graceful lines of the Bentley and bolts on some attention. The edges of the body kit are rounded off with louvered styling elements. There is also a front bumper spoiler, side skirts, rear bumper spoiler, trunk spoiler and roof spoiler. Other parts offered are a suspension height reduction kit and D.T.M sports muffler exhaust system. Price tag for the body kit alone is 1,522,500 Yen (about $16,000).
