Bentley Continental GT

Bentley Continental GT

The Bentley Continental GT is a high end two plus two grand touring luxury coupe that was released in 2003. Powered by a 6.0 Liter W12 engine, this model is available in multiple version producing 552hp, 600hp, and 621hp. Torque comes in at 479lb-ft, 553lb-ft, and 590lb-ft. All of this power is sent to all four wheels leading the Continental GT to an acceleration from 0 to 60 MPH in 4.6 seconds and 3.7 seconds, depending on the model. Top speed goes from 197mph to 201 mph.

It seems that there are people out there who will do their very best to ensure that car thieves will make off with at least part of their car. Sound ridiculous? Well, it is, but it also seems to be true. Take this Bentley Continental GT , for example. The Bentley is already a tasty treat for car thieves everywhere, but this owner has sweetened the pot by adding Swarovski crystals to his luxury vehicle making this a deadly combination for the naive and insane car owner.

And if the crystals were not enough, the owner of this Continental GT also added a very unique exterior: white with orange flowers and flames. The crystals are "hidden" in the flames, but it is still impossible to miss the sparkly additions when you take a glance at the vehicle.

This Bentley was spotted on the streets of the Ukraine, but we’re just wondering how long the car will actually be cruising the streets before we get news of its abduction.

Bentley’s footballer vehicle, the Continental GT , might be getting a few upgrades from its new sister company. The company might equip the new V8 with Audi’s dual-clutch S Tronic transmission. Testing is currently underway to see how well the transmission works in the V8 GT.

The biggest challenger facing engineers is the underbody of the vehicle. The six-speed ZF gearbox is a different shape than the S Tronic, meaning the underbody of the GT will need to be reworked. Still, the benefits of having such a transmission are numerous, such as a better driving experience that could help Bentley market the GT to a more sporting audience.

“The V8 will find a new audience for us. There are sports car enthusiasts out there, particularly in the US, who won’t buy a sports car unless it’s powered by a V8,” says Bentley’s new sales and marketing boss Alasdair Stewart to Autocar.

The price of the V8 is likely to be set below the W12 and it will go on sale in early 2012.

One of the most important vehicles to come out of the Paris Motor Show is Bentley’s newly released 2011 Continental GT .

While not everybody was afforded with the opportunity to see the launch of the 2011 Continental GT in Paris, Bentley’s giving you the opportunity to do it from the comforts of your own couch, provided you have an iPad, of course.

In it, you can get access to a slew of features including an extensive and exclusive selection of ‘on location’ photography, a range of zoomable super-high quality studio shots, a variety of Continental GT driving footage, behind-the-scenes multimedia movies from Bentley’s styling studios, and test track and special ‘insider’ views straight from the factory floor.

The app also gives you access to a run around the history of Bentley, complete with the brand’s long and illustrious history in Le Mans, an introduction to the men and women behind the brand, and classic photos from Bentley’s treasure chest of archives.

The all-new 2011 Bentley Continental GT was just recently shown online. We got to see some pretty pictures and all that, but nothing shows us a car’s true looks and sound than a good video, and that’s just what we have.

There isn’t a whole lot of action in the video, but we do get to see the car up close and personal. The car will be making its first official debut at the Paris Motor Show , which we will be covering. Under the hood will be a W12 with 567 horsepower. Floor the fast pedal and you will be able to hit 198 miles per hour, but if you go down a hill you might hit the magic 200.

Some of the features include climate-controlled seats and a touchscreen for all the car’s toys and gizmos. Chances are the new GT will be pretty sensational, but we will have to wait and see.

We’ve just about had enough of burning supercars recently with all those burning Ferrari 458 Italias having traumatized us already. But unfortunately, the reality of it all is that we’re still going to see them whether we like it or not with this Bentley Continental GT serving proof that exotics aren’t exempt from freak accidents like this.

In this particular case, the burning Continental GT, which happened in Irkutsk, Eastern Siberia, may have come as a result of a pre-meditated attack and not some sort of accident. Details are sketchy, but from what we’ve heard, it looks like arson may have been the cause with two probably scenarios: either somebody didn’t want the car anymore – and decided to burn it - or people got upset at the owner for parking the car in three separate parking spots.

Whatever the case may be, it doesn’t take away the grim reality that another exotic – a beautiful one at that – has now been toasted to a crisp, and hundreds of thousands of dollars have burned with it.

Bentley has already released a few teaser images of the future Continental GT , but today the company has come out to inform the world that they will be debuting the future iconic British coupe next month, and not during the Paris Motor Show as originally expected. Bentley will be unveiling the Continental GT by doing a unique internet reveal.

This interesting reveal will go from September 7th through September 14th, both day and night on www.ContinentalGT.com. When the debut begins, Bentley will be officially drawing back the tarp from over the vehicle and allowing viewers from all over the world to take several bespoke and virtual tours of the Continental GT. These tours will be available from many different camera angles so that no nook or cranny goes unnoticed.

The new Continental will feature new headlights with LED lights - similar to those of the new Mulsanne - as well as a more aggressive air damn, revised front air ducts, and a new set of wheels. The interior has been slightly redone to include a reworked navigation system and infotainment center, as well as many options to customize the coupe to the customer’s taste.

When most people think of Pebble Beach they think of hitting a little while ball with a club next to the most beautiful scenery in the United States. We don’t think of those sort of things though. We think of the automotive festivities that take place on the coast.

This year, we had many cars that were shown. There were new cars like the new Ford Mustang Boss 302 , and there were old cars like the Ferrari F40 birthday collection. In total, 2010 was a spectacular year at the beach for petrol heads.

With all the new car introductions and high-end auctions, automotive lovers of any age will love the extravaganza that was the Pebble Beach Week in California.

We have compiled a list of every new car that was shown in Cali, and some of them are truly amazing. There is even a F1 looking car.

The new generation Bentley Continental GT will make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in October, so the British company is busily preparing for the car’s launch. As part of their excitement-building brigade, Bentley has just set up an official web page that teases the next model. The first official details will be revealed in 19 days.

The exterior changes don’t appear to be numerous, as the front fascia is a bit more aggressive and the rear window slopes more. The new Continental will feature new headlights with LED lights - similar to those of the new Mulsanne as well as a more aggressive air damn, revised front air ducts, and a new set of wheels. There is also a subtle redesign of the interior that will provide the driver with new, modern conveniences such as a reworked navigation system and infotainment center while also allowing them to customize their ride.

The 2012 Continental is also expected to go on a diet by using an aluminum space frame, comparable to that of the Audi R8 . Expect improved performance from the 6.0 liter W12 although the new Continental will most likely not receive a substantial amount of power.
