In keeping up to speed with the Bentley Continental GT and GTC models, the future Continental Flying Spur will also be offered in both W12 and V8 versions. Just the other day, we were able to capture the first spy shots of the W12 version, and now it's time to take a look at the V8-powered model.

These new spy shots lead us to believe this is the Continental Flying Spur V8 because the grey prototype is equipped with a different set of exhaust pipes, similar to the ones we have seen on the GT and GTC V8 models. Those exhaust pipes should lead us to the same 4.0 liter, twin turbocharged V8 engine as in the coupe and convertible models. This engine will deliver a total of 500 HP at 6000 rpm and 487 lb-ft of torque available between 1700 to 5000 rpm. We expect the sedan version to be a bit slower than the coupe, so the 0 to 60 mph will be made in about 5 seconds, while top speed will be below 180 mph.

Expect to see the new Bentley Continental Flying Spur V8 launched sometime in 2013.
