Breitling and Bentley have teamed up once again to create a limited edition chronograph that marks Bentley’ recent world-record breaking exploits on the ice. This watch joins the current Supersports "Ice Speed Record" convertible edition that will be limited to only 100 units.

The Breitling Bentley ISR has borrowed many of its design cues from the special edition Bentley Supersports Ice Speed Record Convertible. It gets a carbon fiber fascia with dashboard-style dial, a classically knurled finish on the control buttons, distinctive red dialing, and a carbon fiber presentation box.

Wolfgang Duerheimer, Bentley’s Chairman and Chief Executive, said: "Juha Kankkunen’s drive was a remarkable achievement and worthy of a very special car. The Continental Supersports "Ice Speed Record" is a true driver’s car that captures that unique Bentley spirit. It offers extreme performance, agility and an extrovert personality, while retaining the refinement, handcrafted luxury and comfort our customers expect."

The new Bentley Continental GTC just made its North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show and will be sold in here at a starting price of $212,800. But while people were amazed by its beauty in LA, in UK a Bentley Continental Bentley Continental GTC has been auctioned for an impressive £240,000, or about $325,000 at the current exchange rates. All the proceeds went to this year’s Children in Need fundraising activities.

"Nearly 400 people saw the auction unfold and, as the price kept on rising, the whole place fell silent. To reach £240.000, even for the very latest Bentley which is still making its debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show, just takes your breath away."

"Above all this has been an incredibly good result for Children in Need. The fact that the new owners are Bentley enthusiasts and love these cars is a bonus for us. We’re looking forward to welcoming them and their unique car to the dealership for many years to come." said Jon Crossley Managing Director of Bentley Manchester.

Bentley unveiled the facelift version of the Continental GT towards the end of 2010, so the next logical step was to refresh their Continental GTC as well. The Speed model is still based on the original Continental GT that was launched in 2003, but has been given updates to make it look fresh and new.

And now, leading up to the Frankfurt Motor Show, Bentley has officially unveiled the 2012 Continental GTC. Just like all of the spy photos we’ve seen of the car, the new Continental GTC comes with an aggressive front fascia, a vented hood, and new headlights. The back of the Bentley also got tweaked with the addition of a trunk-mounted spoiler, slimmer taillights, and a revised exhaust system.

The luxury sportster also benefits from an increase in output from its 6.0-liter W12 engine, a fact that should make fans of the model smile from ear to ear.

UPDATE 11/16/2011: The new Bentley Continental GTC made its North American debut today at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. During the show, Bentley announced that the model will go on sale in late 2011 at a price of $212,800.

Maserati Cinqueporte

Sisters shouldn’t fight and apparently that also holds true in the auto industry. Maserati , Ferrari’s little sister, is hard at work becoming more of a player in the industry and has set its target on competing against both Porsche and Bentley .

But not with its Italian big sister.

According to Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne, Ferrari is in a class of its own and that Maserati will be focusing its attention on competing with the likes of Porsche and Bentley. "Ferrari doesn’t play with Bentley and with Porsche, it plays in its own [sand] box," he said.

The seeds have already been planted for the Italian automaker to accomplish this and expand the model line-up, as well as refreshing some of the existing models in the portfolio. We’ve already heard about Maserati’s intention of introducing a crossover on the market - the tentative name is the ’Cinqueporte ’ - to battle the likes of the Cayenne and now it appears that the company will also have plans for a new small sedan , as well as a larger version of the Quattroporte .

Looking at the big picture, Maserati is pushing forward with their plans of increasing the sales figure of the brand all the way up to 60,000 units. That might sound a little bit of a stretch now, but if in fact these guys are serious about competing with a company like Porsche, they’re going to need to invest every last bit of their resources to ensure that they at least come close to the benchmarks they’ve set.

Everybody knows that October is ’Breast Cancer Awareness Month’ and as such, a lot of people pay tribute to the cause in a variety of ways imaginable.

In the case of Bentley , that tribute comes in the form of a one-off pink Bentley Continental GT that has been codenamed ’Cure’.

the special edition Continental GT was commissioned by Bentley San Diego in California, a luxury automotive sales arm of Symbolic Motor Car Company in La Jolla, California, as an auction piece to contribute awareness to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure breast cancer foundation. Decked in a custom "Passion Pink" finish, the one-off luxury car is currently on sale with the proceeds already earmarked for the foundation as it continues it battle to fight breast cancer through continued research and prevention.

The one-off ’Cure’ Continental GT comes with a factory standard 6.0-liter W12 engine that produces 576 horsepower and 516 lb/ft of torque with a 0-60 mph acceleration time of just 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 198 mph.

The car is unique to its kind not just because of the color it comes in, but more so because of the immense contribution the buyer will be indirectly giving to the Susan G Komen For The Cure foundation.

If there was ever a time to feel good about buying a car that costs $190,000, this is it.

A little over two months ago, a British bespoke tuning company called Imperium unveiled a stunning one-off custom program for the Bentley Continental GT . That particular creation was built for a specific customer and after it garnered tremendous praise, Imperium decided to work on a new program for the British luxury coupe.

The program centers mostly around a comprehensive aerodynamic package - it’s called ’Audentia’, which translates to "boldness and courage" in Latin - that includes a newly designed front bumper with grille, air vents, visually lowering sport side skirts, a new rear bumper with a bootlid spoiler, a subtle rear diffuser and newly designed sports exhaust tips. The program, depending on customer preference, is available in either fiberglass or full carbon fiber at a cost of £25,000, which is around $39,400 based on current exchange rates.

For now, there’s no word on whether the Audentia package will come with performance modifications. But even if the engine was left alone, the Continental GT still comes with a mighty 6.0-liter W12 engine that produces 567 horsepower.

In addition to the Continental GT, Imperium is also offering the Audentia program for the 2012 Continental GTC . In case you’re interested, you need to get up of your couches and place your order now because Imperium will only be building 50 units of the luxury coupe worldwide.

Everyone knows by now that Bentley plans to unveil "the world’s most luxurious 4x4" SUV sometime after 2015, but the company has now revealed that it will be the only SUV in the world to feature a W12 engine: "We will be first to use a 12-cylinder petrol engine in a luxury SUV. I like this idea; it makes clear whose car is the boss," said Bentley CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer.

Moreover, the Bentley SUV will be designed in such a manner that it won’t just carry the W12 engine, but a V12 engine as well. And that’s because the company plans to offer a a V12 TDI version of the SUV a few years after its launch. The W12 engine will be a next-generation version of today’s W12 unit used in the Continental family, and the V12 TDI will be a next-generation version of Audi’s 493bhp 6.0-liter V12 TDI currently being in the Q7 .

However, don’t expect the new SUV before early 2015: "The production date will be dictated by the cyclicity of models," Dürheimer said. "The Mulsanne came in 2010, then the Continental no more than a year later. The lifespan of a model is usually six to eight years, so the new model will be valuable when we are expecting a lull. The downswing is the time to introduce this SUV."

The best part about drawing a line in the sand is that it can always be erased and redrawn. Case in point, new Bentley boss, Wolfgang Durheimer has revealed that an even more powerful version of the Bentley Continental is in the works. The model will be called the Continental GT2 and will be about 441 lbs lighter than the current GT (5,115 lbs) with extra ponies to boot.

Durheimer didn’t want to spill the beans about what will be found under the hood, but it will either be the current W12 engine or the new twin turbo V8. Either way, the GT2 will be pushing out 650 HP making it even more powerful than the 621 HP Supersports model (pictured above). It will also be the first Continental model to feature a four-wheel-drive system.

The Bentley Continental GT2 will be built as a limited edition only and has been described by sources as "the fastest, most spectacular and most powerful road car Bentley has ever built."

"I definitely think there is room for a car with more power than the Supersport," Durheimer said. "I also think some of what we did with the Supersport in the past wasn’t quite right. For example, it should not be a two-seater. That layout should be reserved for the top-line cars."

Yesterday, there were reports that the new generation Porsche 911 would be around for the next 14 years, sprouting off a ton of variations in the process. The number of variants really isn’t anything new though. Wolfgang Durheimer had a hand in developing this game plan during his stay at Porsche and, now that he has moved on, Durheimer plans to do the same with Bentley . The Porschification of Bentley is further underway with the addition of ex-Porsche engineer, Rolf Frech, as Chief Engineer for Bentley starting in November 2011. Together, these two are ready to tackle Bentley’s future.

p>"We can make more of the Continental line up than we have today," Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer said. "I could see it developing as the 911 derivatives did; lightweight models, special models, that was a very successful strategy. With the Mulsanne we get requests all the time for a longer wheelbase model, for instance. The question is whether we do it as a special order or put it on the model line. We are evaluating it, but I have no doubt we could also sell that type of car in the US and China."

Bentley’s new plans for their lineup include a Mulsanne convertible and coupe, as well as a few new versions for the Continental line-up currently consisting of the Supersports , Flying Spur , GT , and GTC models. Rumors about coupe and convertible versions of the Mulsanne have been circulating for some time now, but now it’s official. It is also believed that a Mulsanne convertible will revive the Azure name.

There’s always a fine line between ultra luxury and just being extravagantly over-the-top. British automaker, Bentley , knows a thing or two about luxury and at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the company showed off exactly what it’s all about with the new executive interior concept for the brand’s flagship model, the Mulsanne .

Turning the Mulsanne into an Apple multimedia connective hub, Bentley went completely bananas in outfitting it with just about every product Apple has on the market these days, save for an actual fruit basket of the doctor’s best friend. There are Apple iPads with Bluetooth keyboards, a Mini Mini Mac in the boot compartment, and an Apple Media Center. The concept interior also carries ’W-Lan’ internet connectivity, and a 15.6" High Definition LED drop-down monitor. There are also two electric-powered, foldable wood veneer picnic tables, an illuminated center console, individual armrests for the rear seats, various new storage areas, and a Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) and audio system.

If your head’s spinning from all the features included in the Executive Interior Concept, you’ll have to sit down, take a deep breath, and keep on reading. They’re not done. The final list of additions for the whole interior concept include a Tibaldi pen, a cooler, a Privacy Telephone handset, and numerous lights set-ups, as well as other ports and connectors.

According to Bentley, the whole set-up takes up to 170 hours, which means that all that hours spent working on the interior will warrant charges that will be beyond absurd. Bentley hasn’t announced how much it will cost, but you only need to read all the elements included to determine that it’s going to cost more than you can afford.
