Tuning a Lamborghini to get it, faster, more powerful, or more individually stylish?Well, if the best is not good enough, you certainly can, especially with a tuner dedicated to the famous Italian brand, like the BF Performance company from Zug in Switzerland.

In the “home of special Lamborghinis”, as BF Performance puts it, customers have the option of styling their vehicles with a more individual and personalised touch. To this end, the tuning expert endeavours to emphasise the sporty contours and to enhance the interior and exterior by fitting body-styling elements that lend the vehicles a racing car feel, particularly with such a sports-associated element as carbon fiber.

How about a carbon fibre spoiler at the Gallardo front end, just to ensure even more optimised aerodynamics?

At the opposite, the rear end of the Gallardo would get a diffuser and an efficient boot-lid rear spoiler from the same material. The latter moves the sports car closer - from a visual aspect - to the FIA-GT Lamborghinis. This completes the first step in the direction of a racing car.

However, on the series-produced Gallardo, drivers can look in vain for the gullwing doors associated by both young and old with Lamborghini since the Countach. This expensive solution has fallen victim to the red pen. Nevertheless, BF Performance customers need not lose heart. Since, upon request, a gullwing door conversion kit is also available for this compact Lambo, which makes the 520 bhp sports car finally look like a “genuine” Lamborghini.

BF Performance ‘tunes’ the interior of the Gallardo in the same way as the exterior consistently in the style of a racing car. For instance, BF Performance fits racing seats along with matching 4-point safety harnesses in black and the necessary adaptors. Upon request, BF Performance can also cater to the driver’s personal measurements by modifying the seat position, widening the seat by up to 4 cm or by fitting a made-to-measure anti-sub strap. In addition, the tuning specialist also offers shoulder pads in leather (choice of colours) and seat covers in Walknappa leather, with visible stitching upon request.

A further highlight is the carbon heated seats, which BF Performance fits with the electrics included. The interior can be styled even further by fitting a 15-piece carbon fibre kit.

Now, if a driver should feel the urge to allow the 520 bhp motor to run free on the racing circuit, to be on the safe side, BF Performance can also fit a stainless steel roll cage. A particularly useful feature to avoid damage when manoeuvring is the option of fitting a rear-view camera.

Following the conversion, which costs around 33000$, this “compact” Lamborghini looks like a genuine racing car. As such, nothing now stands in the way of a few laps around the Nürburgring-Nordschleife racing circuit.
