BMW announced that Jay Leno became the latest person to receive keys to a BMW Hydrogen 7 — the first hydrogen-powered luxury sedan. No, not to keep. It’s a loan, part of a BMW program to place 25 of the 100 experimental hydrogen powered BMW 7 Series vehicles with prominent Hollywood celebrities. Earlier, Brad Pitt had arrived at the Oscar ceremonies in one.
But now BWM has loaned the first of the vehicles designated for daily use.
To Ferrell.
Seems an odd choice, as though BMW were suggesting the car is really a joke.
But, turns out their thinking is that Ferrell’s an “environmentalist” and already owns (...)

30 years ago, BMW’s "large class" spawned a successor that was to become a byword for luxury, elegance and innovation: the BMW 7 Series. Drawing on technology based on the large 6 Series Coupé launched in 1976 and styling that bore the signature of BMW’s chief designer Paul Bracq, BMW succeeded in creating a car that was larger than its predecessor yet managed to retain the hallmark dynamics associated with the brand.

A heavily camouflaged 2009 BWM 7 Series has been spotted testing at the Nurburgring in Germany. We also neglected to mention the environmental significance of hydrogen power. But BMW didn’t, and they put out a press release to remind us of their love of water.
