Usually G-Power is the kind of tuner that makes quite an impression on us, but this time they managed to underwhelm us a bit. So the question is, how did G-Power went from offering cars like the Hurricane to offering individualized interiors? We can only find one answer to this question: there are people with a lot of money out there that need another way to separate their money from their wallets!
What you see in here is a BMW M6 interior designed using the tuner’s new individual interior design — a program that allows the customer to fully customize the M6’s interior, which is a good thing sometimes. In this case, however, our eyes are now numb from staring at the sea of grey that G-Power created. Much like a responsible tattoo artist, G-Power should have looked at this customer and said “are you sure that’s what you want?” but, we’re sure G-Power will produce some knockout examples too.
The interior can be fully trimmed in a combination of premium Kjerba Nappa leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber. The front seats, rear seats and the door panels receive contrasting stitching and numerous G-Power logos will constantly remind you of who did the work. Along with the upholstery work, the tuner offers individual Entertainment, Infotainment and Business Packages that will further customize the interior of the M6.
Before you get really disappointed, we have some good news for you. The example car comes equipped with the SK III RS twin-supercharger system that increases the engine’s power to an impressive 750 horsepower and raises top speed to 223 mph.
Here’s to hoping that G-Power releases some images of some slightly less mind-numbing interior upgrades. This all-grey deal is just an odd one to feature.
The latest episode of “Car and Driver: Abroad” put together two of the most impressive models offered by BMW in 2012, the M5 sports sedan and the M6 Coupe. The two are compared exterior, the interior and then, of course, taken to the race track and pushed to their limits.
The M5 is powered by a 4.4-liter V-8 engine that delivers a total of 560 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque. The model will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and up to a top speed of 190 mph. The same engine is also used for the M6 Coupe, but the sprint from 0 to 60 mph is made in 4.2 seconds and top speed is limited to 155 mph, or 189 mph with M Performance Package activated.

Risden Engineering isn’t really a household name in the auto tuning industry relative to all the big names that are out there.
But when you’re talking about performance upgrades, these guys do it with a capital ’P’.
Their latest foray into the world of aftermarket upgrades is a track-focused program for BMW’s resident luxury sports coupe, the mighty M6 Coupe.
Details have been scarce at this point, partly because Risden is targeting a launch by the first quarter of 2013, but we expect nothing less than a complete juicing up of pony power, in addition to a possible weight reduction, a suspension improvement, and aerodynamic upgrades, all of which Risden has been known to be extremely awesome at.
Judging by the photos, the aero components certainly speak for themselves. There’s a new front bumper with its own spoiler, new fenders with multiple air outlets, a trunk lid spoiler, an enormous rear wing, and a vented rear bumper with what looks like a new diffuser and trapezoidal twin tailpipes.
That’s our observation based on the photos Risden Engineering released. It doesn’t mean we’ll see the exact same thing, but we’re confident that these guys will have a completed program that will blow the lid off of any expectations we may have of it.
Shortly after unveiling the 6-Series Gran Coupe at the end of 2011, BMW has started testing the most powerful version in the series: the M6 Gran Coupe. Today, after about one year of testings, the M6 Gran Coupe finally made its official debut today.
As with any other M6 model in BMW’s lineup, the Gran Coupe will be distinguished by a more aggressive and sportier look compared to the standard model. The list of changes will include more aggressive front and rear fascias with the usual M-type elements, larger, 20-inch M light-alloy wheels, and, of course, a quad-exhaust system. The interior will also be updated with the same usual M elements: sports seats, a new M cockpit, lots of Alcantara and carbon fiber.
The new BMW M6 Gran Coupe will go on sale in May 2013 with prices starting from €128.800 - about $168,000 at the current exchange rates.
UPDATE 12/17/2012: BMW has unveiled a new video (above) revealing the interior features of its new M6 Gran Coupe. The model will come with M sports seats with integral belt guides, Merino leather upholstery and much more.
BMW has officially unveiled the third generation M6, in both coupe and convertible versions. The M6 badge was first used back in 1987 and since then, the model has evolved into a powerful, athletic, focused, luxurious and efficient sports car. On the US market, the M6 Coupe was the last to arrive and went on sale in the late Summer of 2012 as a 2013 model.
As many rumors suggested, the new M6 has dropped its V10 engine in favor of a new 4.4-liter V8 equipped with M TwinPower Turbo Technology. Despite its lower capacity, the new V8 develops a total of 560 HP (an increase of 5 HP over the previous model) and a peak torque of 500 lb-ft. The engine is mated to a newly developed 7-speed double-clutch transmission designed to handle the high torque and high revving nature of the engine.
The new M6 Coupe will be immediately recognized as an elegant and sporty 6-Series, but it gets the usual M styling design cues that make it look sportier and more powerful. These elements include wider air intakes, stunningly contoured headlight units, the newly designed M kidney grille, which bears an "M6" badge, and powerful 19-inch M light-alloy wheels.
UPDATE 11/20/2012: BMW USA has transformed the M6 into the most interesting project: an M print. Using very interesting technology and Matt Mullins, Chief Driving Instructor of the BMW Performance Driving School, behind the wheel, the M6 was used to create unique autographs for M fans nationwide. BMW will unveil the new M6 GranCoupe online next month and the world debut will be made in January 2013 at the Detroit Motor Show. Just recently, the M56 GranCoupe was fully exposed during an event at Nurburgring. Fortunately for us, some savvy folks had the chance to shot some images of the M6 GranCoupe and shared them with the rest of the world.
The next M6 GranCoupe will be powered by the same engine as the standard M6 models, which is a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine with an output of 553 horsepower and a peak torque of 501 foot-pounds delivered between 1,750 and 5,750 rpm. The engine will be mated to a seven-speed M-Double Clutch Transmission (M-DCT) that will send the power to the rear wheels.
When compared to the standard 6-Series GranCoupe, the M6 version will get a more aggressive front and rear fascias with the usual M-type elements, larger wheels, and a quad-exhaust system.
Okay, the BMW M6 Gran Coupe is really not a big secret. Heck, some savvy photographers caught it frolicking in the snow a few months ago. At that time, the Gran Coupe was all covered up with psychedelic livery, so you couldn’t make out what was really going on with the body.
An even savvier photographer recently caught an image of what appears to be the M6 Gran Coupe up in the air at BMW being worked on (above). There is a small chance that this is simply a 6-SeriesBimmer converted into an M6 Gran Coupe. If that’s the case, then that is the cleanest conversion we’ve ever seen, so a conversion is doubtful. What’s even better is that this spy shot has no camouflage at all, so we get a look at this alleged 560-horsepower beast in all of its glory.
Granted, most of the cool stuff is under the hood and it pretty much looks like a 6-Series with flashy M6-like rims, but still, it’s an uncovered shot nonetheless. So salivate away guys and gals, as this is probably the cleanest shot that we’ll see of this beauty until BMW decides to unveil it to us.

While most people are still waiting to receive their BMW M5 or M6, BMW North America has just issued a recall for these exact model, at least the ones produced between July 2012 and September 2012. According to BMW officials, a total of 696 vehicles in the US are potentially affected.
According to the official statement, the issue "involves the engine oil pump. The pump driveshaft can separate from the pump rotor. If this were to occur, the engine could experience a sudden loss of oil pressure which could cause severe engine damage."
However, it is very easy for the driver to become aware of the problem. "If the vehicle experiences a sudden loss of oil pressure, a low oil pressure warning indicator is displayed in the instrument cluster, along with a warning message in the control display."
BMW is advising its clients not to drive the M5 or the M6 until the recall is completed. Customers who discover an engine loss to their car are advised to carefully pull over to the side of the road and shut off the engine. In this case, contact BMW Roadside Assistance at 1-800-332-4269. During the recall, deliveries of these models will be stopped.

With 560 HP under the hood, the new generation BMW M6 is undoubtedly a car that gets a lot of attention. Now, German tuner Lumma Design is adding yet another tuning package to the list. This is just a preview of what’s to come, though. The full package will be unveiled at the end of 2012 and comes with modifications to the exterior and interior of the sports car.
Lumma Design started the package by offering a complete aerodynamics kit, including a front spoiler and large air inlets, carbon fiber engine housing, wheel arch extensions to the front and the rear, and a rear diffuser with a central double-pipe exhaust. There is also a new set of wheels, size 10x21," on the front axle and 12.5x21" on the rear axle.
As for the interior, Lumma Design allows its customers to do with it as they wish. They offer plenty of color options to choose from and lots of materials like leather, alcantara, and carbon fiber.
