All the 2,700 BMW 1 Series M Coupe units were sold in short order; so, if you want to buy a 1M now, you'll need to dig up a used one. Despite its relatively limited numbers, there are plenty of tuners that have completely transformed the look and performance credentials of the 1M Coupe->ke2536.
The latest package hails from the masterminds at Leib Engineering. While not the perfect color combination, the 1M Coupe prepared by Leib comes with one huge advantage: it is considerable more powerful than the standard version.
The tuner remapped the ECU and installed a new flap exhaust system with the sound it emits ranging from a subtle hum to an outrageous roar. As a result, the engine's output jumped to a total of 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque -- up from 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet. Leib then removed the speed limiter, allowing the 1M Coupe to hit a top speed of 190 mph. Customers can also opt for an even more powerful version that pumps out 500 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. This extra increase uses larger turbochargers, a suction system with a larger cross-section and completely revised cooling and exhaust packages.

BMW 1M Coupe by Leib Engineering in Detail
A more powerful car typically requires the addition of a more aggressive exterior look, so Leib opted for a matte-gray wrap, which replaced the original Valencia Orange on the press vehicle.
The 1M now sits on a set of 10-by-20-inch Bavaria BC5 Concave wheels wrapped in Yokohama Advan sports tires sized 255/30R20 on the front and 275/30R20 at the rear. To make this tune pop a little more, Leib chose to coat the rims in baby blue.
