Shiny, shimmering, and very, very splendid. That's the best description you can give to BMW->ke178's latest special edition model, the M3->ke2366 Coupe "Chrome Bullet".

As the name clearly suggests, this particular M3 has been dressed in chrome from nose to rear. Fancy touch, especially when you add the now distinguishable M motorsport 'red and blue' decal on the hood of the car. The car was officially unveiled in Munich a few days ago and BMW has given no indication on whether or not this show piece will translate to a limited edition production.

For now, it's a display model that will obviously get plenty of attention. If it somehow gets the nod to be offered in a limited basis, the Chrome Bullet will be yet another example of BMW oddity at its best.

Despite the bombastic look of the car, the Chrome Bullet still carries the same powertrain as that of its more subdued M3 brethren. That means that you can expect to see the M3 Coupe's 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 420 horsepower.

If it does find its way into the good graces of BMW execs and ends up as a special edition model, you can expect the M3 Coupe Chrome Bullet to fetch significantly more than the standard model's $60,000 price tag.

The car will most definitely cater to a niche clientele. No matter its audaciousness, we find it hard to believe that a lot of people will go head over heels for the car. The maintenance alone is enough to drive us up the wall and we know how tedious washing special paint jobs from BMW can be.
