Now that BMW released the official details for the new generation 1-Series, it was only a matter of time before news of additional perks and packages were released as well. BMW.de was at the forefront of this information with news of the M-Sport package. According to the Germans, the M-Sport package will be available starting March 2012 and will add extra sporting equipment.

The most intriguing feature of the new M Sport package is the addition of Estoril Blue Metallic to the list of color options (five total). This new color will join the ranks of an Individual High-gloss Shadow Line which replaces the chrome trim and a Dark Shadow Metallic rear diffuser. New components include a separate bumper and skirts for a more dynamic look, as well as fog lights and a set of 17" M light-alloy wheels as standard, 18" optional.

The interior of the 1-Series also sees a few changes with an M leather steering wheel with multi function (paddle shifters optional), an M shifter, aluminum pedals, and aluminum inserts. Sports seats are also present and can be donned in Black, Oyster, or Coral Red Nappa leather or in a combination of Hexagon Fabric / Alcantara.

The new engine in the line-up is the 1.6-liter petrol engine that will be used in the BMW 116i and BMW 118i models in combination with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. The different variations of this engine will range from 136 HP to 170 HP.

It looks so attractive on its sleek body paint, and I also noticed that it looks cool on the design of its wheels. However, I’m not satisfied by its petrol output, which is 136 horsepower only.

One thing that isn’t really clear to me is whether the M-Sport package that comes with this one is just an option or is already standard with the car. I hope that it is the latter in this case.

Though I think there’s nothing new with this model when it comes to outside appearance, 2012 BMW model will be a great choice for some sports car enthusiasts. With its upgraded engine and other features, this car will surely compete in the market.

That’s really what I like about this car. Overall, it isn’t really all that flashy, but there is something to the design of the whole car that would make you like it.

I would agree with you on that one. The I-Series is really starting to be one awesome car, what with all the features that it has. And they definitely made it even better with the addition of the M-Sport package.

The design of the car is simple. But all parts of the car is so impressive The interior with an M leather, the wheel with multi function, and also the engine has absolutely a plus factor.

Yeah, you’re correct, the M-Sport package is mostly about the exterior looks of the car, though some of its components actually does add a bit to the performance. Good thing that they took care of that also.
