ethos - one of the possible names for the future lotus picture

What will the name of the future Lotus sports car is still a big mystery, and according to Lotus company it will stay that way until the car will make its official debut at the London Motor Show.

One of the possibilities is "Ethos", but a company insiders said this is not the strongest contender.

The car will definitely have a name beginning with “E”, and it won’t share its name with any previous Lotus model.

One thing is for sure: it will not be called Esprit, as that name is being reserved for the new range-topping, V8-engined supercar that’s due to launch in 2010.

Ford will preview at the British Motor Show the 2009 Focus RS. It will go on sale in early 2009.

The Focus RS is powered by a specially developed, turbocharged version of the Duratec 2.5-litre 5-cylinder engine that delivers 300 hp and a peak torque of 410Nm.

In another visual reminder of the car’s performance potential, triangular, RS-badged vents sit behind the front wheel arches. Two classic-style bonnet louvres are both a styling hint at the power beneath and a practical requirement, maintaining correct system temperatures.

The completely new front bumper design for Focus RS incorporates a deep front airdam with a large, mesh lower grille in an extended trapezoid. Stylish and practical, this prominent feature represents the latest Ford ’kinetic design’ face and also is finished in piano black. Above, chromed xenon headlamps stand out like cat’s eyes and are framed by matt-black housings with unique additional vents running underneath.
