2011 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport by Bijan Pakzad

  Review

About a month ago, Iranian-born fashion designer Bijan Pakzad unexpectedly passed away after suffering a stroke. The noted designer famous for dressing some of the most famous people in the world was more than just into fashion; the man was also one of the most avid car aficionados on the planet.

Bijan’s involvement in the auto industry saw him strike partnerships with a number of automakers, most notably that of Rolls-Royce and Bugatti. Bijan’s partnership with the latter was touched on by Bugatti Design Director, Achim Anscheidt, who on behalf of the company, released a video talking about the special edition Veyron Grand Sport that the designer worked on together with Bugatti.

In it, Anscheidt describes the development of the design of the special edition Veyron Grand Sport, from the unusual color scheme – high gloss, polished aluminum with Bijan Yellow running the whole length of the middle – to the Bijan trademark painted on the bonnet of the Veyron. Other notable elements of the special edition supercar include a two-tone set of diamond-cut wheels, trademarks and logos made from solid aluminum, and Bijan’s signature set on platinum and placed on the car’s rear spoiler. Inside, Bijan chose a yellow with black carbon fiber contrast with several unique details, including a personalized power meter and an iPad between the seats.

The Bijan-designed special edition Veyron Grand Sport was finished a couple of weeks ago, but unfortunately, the designer wasn’t able to introduce it to the world because of his sudden passing. Nevertheless, the car has Bijan’s imprint all over it and it immediately becomes a fitting “tribute car” to the man who loved his exotics as much as his wardrobe choices.

Hey, is this one going to be a one off, or are they going to to produce a limited number of units? Many folks would certainly like being able to own one of these.

I am not really fond of the Veyron, but I think that it is the most appropriate car to make a tribute for Pakzad. It really reflects his style a lot.

Bijan sudden death along with Hamman is such a big lose in the auto industry! I have seen the design that he have made with the Bugatti and I have to say the he really proved his talent on his work! However, for his last work its really impressive like his wardrobe collection!
