Bugatti->ke16 rocked the supercar->ke177 world in 2005 by releasing the Veyron->ke1112, its first production vehicle since the EB110, which was discontinued in 1995. Initially powered by a quad-turbocharged, 8.0-liter, W-16 engine that cranked out 987 horsepower, the Veyron was later updated and gifted with no less than 1,183 ponies and 1,106 pound-feet of torque. The French supercar is mostly know for being the fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a record sitting at 267.856 mph. Its roadster version, the Grand Sport Vitesse, holds the same benchmark for the world’s fastest open-top with a top speed of 254.04 mph. With only 15 units left to be built as of August 2014, Bugatti is sending the Veyron into the history books with yet another unique iteration, this time around created for an unnamed customer in Singapore.

Suggestively named "1 of 1," this bespoke Veyron was crafted using the same recipe that made Bugatti famous. However, there's twist to the "1 of 1", which comes with more than a custom paintjob and a personalized interior. Not that these features are something to sneeze at, but it goes to show that Bugatti is capable of taking its customization program even further. Read on to find out why.

Exterior

The Veyron's familiar shape and size gains a new dimension with the "1 of 1," thanks to its bespoke paint job. Although most Veyrons sport a two-tone exterior, the "1 of 1" is finished in a different pattern, with the yellow color adorning the supercar's upper front fenders, the A-pillars, the roof, the hood and most of the rear fascia. You will also notice yellow accents around the horseshoe front grille and on the unique wheels. What's more, the yellow-over-black paintjob, which pays tribute to the historical Bugatti family colors and classic models such as the Type 41 Royale, Type 55 and Type 44, is exclusive to this unique vehicle.

Take a closer look and you'll notice even more details that set this Veyron apart. The initials of Ettore Bugatti, present on the wheel center caps, the oil cap and the fuel flap are finished in yellow, and the front grille was redesigned at the customer's request. Specifically, the traditional mesh grille was replaced with the customer's initials, which were laser cut, polished and black-anodized. Additionally, the Veyron "1 of 1" received a Bugatti logo on the underside of the rear wing, which becomes visible as the piece extends at speeds over 110 mph.

Interior

The classic Bugatti black-and-yellow theme continues inside. Trimmed in black leather, the cabin is highlighted by the yellow stitching seen on the steering wheel, seats and the gear selector lever. The center console is made from deep-black, exposed carbon-fiber -- a feature unique to the "1 of 1" Veyron -- while the carbon-fiber lid of the rear box mounted between the seats receives a bespoke sketch depicting the Type 35, Bugatti's most successful race car.

The door panels carry a unique design as well, this time around in the shape of a yellow-colored silhouette of the Veyron. The image was created using a new production technique in which a special duo-tone leather -- black on the outside and yellow on the inside -- is perforated with a laser. The holes expose the inner yellow layer, while the rest of area retains its black color. Impressive!

Finishing touches include "1 of 1" decorations on the center console and a portrait of the customer engraved together with his name in the door sills. Granted, this is one of the most intricate interiors Bugatti has created for the Veyron supercar.

Drivetrain

This special, unique Veyron carries a standard engine under its hood. But the 8.0-liter W-16 mill is far from ordinary, as it kicks out no less than 1,183 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of twist. All that amazing power and torque travels to the wheels through a seven-speed, DSG sequential gearbox and the performance it delivers is astounding. The 0-to-60 mph sprint takes only 2.6 seconds, while top speed sit at 253 mph -- a Guinness Book record in the automotive industry.

The fact that the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse holds the record for the fastest open-top production car is what makes this expensive supercar so popular among speed fanatics, and this bespoke iteration is no exception.

Pricing

The amount the wealthy Singapore owner paid to take delivery of this one-of-a-kind Veyron is a well-guarded secret, but we have a hunch it cost more than the Ettore Bugatti Veyron limited edition, which is priced at €2.35 million ($3.1 million as of 08/25/2014). Given its exclusivity, we wouldn't be surprised to hear Bugatti charged around $4 million to build it.

Competition

Pagani Huayra

Although the Pagani Huayra is no match for the Veyron in terms of horsepower and torque (or even displacement for that matter), the Italian supercar enjoys a similar status among collectors. Specifically, customers opt for either limited-edition or unique versions of the Huayra, which says a lot about Pagani's vast personalization program.

Although engine specs remain unchanged, the Huayra can be had in various exterior finishes, including bespoke colors and bare carbon-fiber skins highlighted by the company's already famous "Tricolore" stripes. Different sets of wheels are also available, but the customization process can also include extensive aerodynamic tweaks, and even different headlamps and taillights. The same recipe can be applied in the cabin, where numerous leathers, trims and inserts can be fitted at the owner's request.

Motivation is provided by the AMG-sourced, 6.0-liter, V-12 engine rated at 730 horsepower and 740 pound-feet of torque. With that beast under its hood, the Huayra is capable of 0-to-60 mph sprints of 3.2 seconds and top speeds of 230 mph.

Conclusion

Although we've seen one too many special-edition Bugatti Veyrons recently, we have to admit this "1 of 1" creation is indeed special and sits atop the rest of the lineup. Unlike other one-off creations, which also feature bespoke paintjobs and interiors, this Veyron also sports a unique front grille, making it the first vehicle of its kind to gain a custom horseshoe grille straight from the factory.

Although production of the Bugatti Veyron will come to an end by 2015, its speed records and highly customizable nature will remain. Vehicles such as the "1 of 1" will carry the Veyron legend even further, cementing the manufacturer's already strong position in the world of supercars.
