Buick has rekindled a name from its storied 20th-century past to mark the beginning of a new level of refinement: Super. The badge is designated exclusively for Buick’s most premium, powerful models and returns to Buick vehicles after 50 years. It will debut on the 2008 model year Lucerne sedans.

Buick will freshen its 2008 LaCrosse line with the new face of Buick – a front-end design inspired by the Velite convertible concept – and an elevated list of standard equipment across all LaCrosse models.

Buick is trying all its best to revive itself in North America, where sales have fallen more than 40 percent since 2002. In order to refresh its line-up Buick will soup up its two sedans and launch a much-anticipated crossover sport utility vehicle. Also, at New York Auto Show, the 2008 LaCrosse will be launched. Buick will unveil next week in New York, a Super line of premium-trim vehicles. The LaCrosse Super and Lucerne Super will feature performance and chassis upgrades, exclusive content and design enhancements. The LaCrosse Super will have portholes on the front fenders, while the basic LaCrosse will not. Buick might also consider a Super version of the Enclave crossover.

When the all-new 2008 Buick Enclave luxury crossover sport utility vehicle arrives in dealerships early this summer, it will come equipped with a long list of standard equipment, a suite of owner services and a price unmatched in the segment. The front-wheel-drive Enclave CX starts at $32,790, while the all-wheel-drive model starts at $34,790. The 2008 Buick GNX Concept is not a concept that comes from Buick, but simply a product of Popular Hot Rodding’s imagination. It is based on the new Zeta platform, giving it a fully independent four-wheel suspension, rear-wheel drive, a six-speed automatic transmission, and a 400hp LS2. Tiger Woods, the world’s top-ranked professional golfer and long-time Buick partner, teamed up with Buick to introduce media to the brand’s newest vehicle: the all-new 2008 Enclave luxury crossover SUV, on the eve of the Los Angeles Auto Show.
